The only way i have found to fix it is too reload the save but its frustrating to do it everytime
I did put this mod at the bottom of the load order using mod manager and i haven't seen the freezing issue in a while for now but i am not sure if that fixes it
I'm playing on 41.65 on a new save and can confirm that changing the mod load order does not stop NPCs from freezing mid-fight with zombies. But I'm super happy that it works for some.
I have NPC spawn to very low, I've given every NPC Desensitized and Brave traits, and somehow one of my two NPC freezes from time to time when encountering zombies.
Not a big deal when I have to re-load the save though. Still love this mod so much and refuse to play without it.
Spears always seem to cause problems and other weapons if they break like boards for example. So if you manage to invite them to party just swap the weapon with them and give them something durable like a crowbar. This helps at least for some of the animation freezing but not all. About lags I noticed it causes lags often if they're in areas with too many higher fences and pathfinding causes problems like in Riverside East. Often they get stuck at closed doors as well.
