Noita
Noita Adventure Mode - Aloittaa
utterly unenjoyable first section is a turnoff.
I'm sorry, but I can't recommend this mod.

it's impressive. it's incredibly well made. I can't even begin to describe the amount of effort put into this.

but it's just. not. fun. to. play. through.

unless it's one of those cases where the best parts of the experience appear later, I simply give up. I've been doing it for 10 minutes and i already lost all interest.

my experience so far was:
-a jump puzzle with fire. except there's no way to levitate and the floor is (literal) lava. also, enjoy being set on fire more than half of the times you try to jump, after losing all water. lovely. then you get "flight", which is... levitation capped at 20%ish of normal. amazing. so I have to try and re-do the puzzle with hundreds of hours of muscle memory of using levitation to navigate betraying me and dying to the lava some 30 times because of how this is designed and how you're actively PUNISHED from being used to how the game plays.

-a death corridor where anything and everything one-shots you. yay. the faintest pixel touches your characte,r that's it, that's instant death. there's ZERO margin for error and this is simply not a scenario you'd ever find in the normal game. Noita is fun because you CAN go around your problems and outsmart otherwise hostile level design. this, this was just torture. if I WANT to play this kind of game, I'll just boot up Super Meat Boy or similar titles. but it goes very much against what I'd say is the design philosophy of Noita, one of sandbox creativity.

-a chase scene through uneven terrain while being chased by some cheap spider-skeleton discount Stevari. I have no weapons. I have no guidance on where I -should- go. the 'escape route' is a sinuous and ramp-laden basement where very often I can't go up slopes, and must instead rely on that near-nonexistant levitation. this while being forced to dodge lightly homing, exploding shots. slow, predictable shots that you can see coming but simply lack the MOBILITY to address. moreso because the AoE all but dictates that unless you perfectly dodge, you WILL get scratch damage that slowly adds up. this on top of a fairly "you must start jumping from this exact pixel at full levitation charge or you'll fail" jump that must be performed while actively dodging and avoiding the exploding projectiles followed by an uphill incline where every attack by the chasing enemy (which is FASTER THAN YOU, because of ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ course it is) will just explode into the wall you're trying to climb even if you dodge, both damaging AND knocking you back.

sorry.

I give up.

this is not fun. this is not good level or game design. this is not how Noita feels like, and I understand the whole "this is a different take on Noita and something of a prelude" and I -do- love depowering the player as a storytelling device, it does work when done right. but I expected puzzles, I expected something that demands me to think critically, I did NOT sign up to play a tech simulator where you either die in 1 hit or get chased down by enemies in levels apparently designed to make every attempt at fleeing said enemy as frustrating as it gets.

I'm throwing the towel and returning to casting spells, which is what i got this game for, anyway... what a disappointment. and worst of all, the amount of effort put into this. I can't even be mad, I have nothing but respect for the amount of effort put into this, I -wish- I could do something like this and I do not intend to devalue the merits of this mod. but it's just n o t an enjoyable experience, sorry, and I cannot recommend it. I've lost all interest in continuing this or forcing myself past these sections, so unfortunately I'll not see the end of the mod, and I'm most likely judging it unfairly. but if I have to lick a layer of dirt one inch thick just to reach the cake, I'll just go buy a cake elsewhere, sorry...

you totally said what I was thinking bro
this mod is a TORTURE, it brought me far more pain than when I first played Noita, at least there I was constantly exposed to new things instead of repeating meaningless deaths over and over.
when I first heard about this mod I thought I would experience interesting puzzles and new plot, but they just provide those IWANNA stuff.
this mod is DEFINITELY overrated.
