Hey there, tried out the mod and here are my thoughts. 1. A way to automatically save player skills would be nice, right now you lose the skills if you didn't save recently. Also the home point/skill save should definitely be separated in any case. 2. On respawn the character looks like it has everything from before death equipped even though it isn't. While you can equip other things to fix this it's tedious, and when it comes to weapons you can't stomp attack. 3. Having to exactly type the same name in every time seems weird.. is there any way to just tie it to the steam user or something to automate it so you don't accidentally misspell the name? Thanks for the cool mod!
Hey this is really cool, one suggestion make it a small button so it's not in your screen so much or even a command to hide ui and bring it back up or button. Really like it will report bugs or feedback just added it on the server.
Id like to use it on RP server to promote more PvP and daring gameplay. Thing is we cant use same names for obvious reasons, char should have default equip and respawn location should be defined by server as vanilla, not save.
Do you think it will be possible somehow?
It's possible. I have it on the list to add spawn location options.
Can you make this more configurable? For example, set it so Fitness/ Strength are not lost, how many skills maximum may be deducted from at once, what the chance for a deduction is. If I can configure how painful death can be, this would be awesome! Maybe a maximum to the amount of XP lost? This should be vanilla for server admins, multiplayer isnt single player.
This is on my list to create a more detailed set of options for penalties. Probably won't be in place until January.
I don't know if I'll have time to support two branches. Can your elaborate on object duplication method you mentioned? I'll look into the zombies kill counter.
ah, ok. I thought it was a bug. My mod isn't designed to prevent willful duping. I am planning at some point to include server-side options. Just not right now.
just remembered that I had a mod similar to yours installed a few versions back. In that mod you did not save your character manually but your character acted pretty much the same way as in vanilla. You died, your stuff stayed on your corpse, BUT you also dropped an item, that pretty much served as an xp token. When you picked it up and used it, you got all your skills and xp back. Maybe you could try to do it like that, could cause less bugs than the current version of the mod. Maybe it's even possible to reduce skills before the token is put into the inventory, so you still have the chance to lose some progress.
