Stats Idea
Either:
  • Just a Reskin
    or:
  • +Silent Cloak/Uncloak (does not apply to Disguise)
    +Silent Killer while rage meter is filled
    +Damage fills up a rage meter (meter requires 1800 damage to fill completely, or a few backstabs), and upon said backstab, the meter will start to drain, and the wearer can attack while cloaked for up to 8 seconds (meter will refill by 1/2 of the damage done on sequential attacks).
    -15% Non-Backstab Damage
This was an idea centering around crowd control and clearing out fortified areas.
The silent cloaking makes it more versatile as a knife, but the main mechanic will be the Chain Backstab.
It is offset by how the 'rage' mechanic can vary depending on how you pick your target, triggers upon backstab, and only really being good against crowds. Butterknifing will be kinda useless due to the reduced damage.

This is open to improvement, as I feel that I have not done quite enough research into niches or opportunities for the Spy class and it may show.

How to make good stats for a spy knife (and any other weapon):
1. It helps to look at the weapons name. The name is the base of all of my stats, and i add cool affects that go with the name as well. Check out "Crescendo" to see what I mean.

2. New mechanics! DO NOT, and I repeat, DO NOT make stats if they are just going to simply change barely from the stock. You have to have a weapon that changes the gameplay experience all together, not just some weapon that has stats.

3.(Optional) Teaching weapons: Teaching weapons are weapons that teach you skills and purposes for that class. For example: The Diamond back teaches you what to do as a spy, as far as backstabbing and sapping goes. And then it rewards you with crits! The Rocket/Stickey Jumper help you learn jumping techniques!

4.The stats have to be balanced. Enough said.

With all of that being told, I hope all of you guys choose wisely upon this.

Here are my stats for this cool knife:

Pro's:
On backstab, you gain full health.

Con's:
Facestabs do no damage.
Sappers don't disable sentries, they make their damage -60% and they take 30% more damage.

On each backstab, sappers work 10% faster. (Example: 1 backstab= +10% sapper speed,
2 backstabs = 20% sapper speed, etc.)
On each attempted facestab, sappers work 10% slower. (Example: 1 attempted facestab = -10% sapper speed, 2 attempted facestabs = -20% sapper speed, etc.)

Do you see the new mechanic I tried to put in there?

I tried as hard as i could to make stats and a new mechanic in 3 minutes along the lines of what I just said, but mind you, this stat set will be edited.

i feel like it needs to do bleed on non backstabs and i agree as with the bazzar bargain type thing for it Domtv posted

imo, 8 sec kinda OP. also full-invisibility offense break main idea seriously. so it had to be somewhere between. ie like "6 seconds of reduced signature regardless actions", but at less(than 1800hp) activation/triggering or "instant/silent cloak/uncloak until respawn/death" after 2000hp. and preferably - latter option.

New idea:
  • All damage the wearer deals is reduced by 25%
  • Backstabs fill up a power meter, as the meter is filled, all damage dealt is increased by 30% (+15% damage boost overall and sapper health drain rate) (meter maxes out at 6 backstabs)
  • Facestabs do 30% less damage and reduce the power meter by 40%
  • Up to 20% of the meter is kept if the wearer ACCIDENTALLY kills himself (falling, environmental hazards etc.).

Correct stats:
On backstab, wielder gains full health. 1 health regenerated per second. Damadge taken will be divided in half. -25 health. -50 attack speed. 50 health on face/front stab. 20% faster zapper speed. On criticle hit when hitting enemy, fast cloak with no sound, lasts for 5 sec. On backstab, gain 50% more speed.
