How about making snow collectors a separate recipe or maybe an upgrade for the regular ones, which would require some electronic parts and for those snow collectors to be connected to the grid (generator) for them to melt the snow?

@Agitatio there are other mods that are centered on "melting" the snow itself and create more complex systems. For now my mod is centered around giving a simple solution to the current system not using snow when filling containers. Thanks for the suggestion, though

Beltneck has a good point. At 30F, 10in snow = 1in meltwater. Lower temperatures reduce yield even further. Good thing snow sticks around for harvesting.

Could code each snow filled tile as a water tap or snow source to fill containers? Maybe collect with clean trowel/shovel into empty pot similar to coding for diggin graves?

Like ya noted - there may be others that do this so thanks all the same.

Suggesting to transfer mod's configurable options to the Sandbox options bc of how dedicated servers work and to stop mess with their locality.

Will take it into account for next update to see how viable it is. Thank you
Maybe an option to "scoop" snow into a collector for faster filling? bare hands, (will get you cold faster?) shovel (goes faster, less cold?)
(completely glossed over the fact this was already suggested, sorry)

Actually, it would be good to have a variable option of changing how quickly the water collection fills up from snow, OR needing fire or some sort heat source near the collector to melt the ice, and have the option to enable or disable that function.

The "how fast" thing depends on two factors right now. The percentage setting that is currently available for this mod (in the mod settings tab in options) and the "time scale" set for that game. This setting changes how "fast" 10 minutes in game pass in real life. However, that affects the whole game experience, so I wouldn't recommend changing those settings too much and hence why I added the mod multiplier option.
Regarding the melting idea, I have heard that one before and could actually be pretty nice, but would require a lot of time and effort, which is something i unfortunatelly dont have rn. Thanks for your time to comment and share your ideas, I appreciate them a lot :steamhappy:

... if that's a suggestion, please no. or at least add a toggle for it if yes (default it to off), cuz realistically, frost KILLS crops. or at the bestests best, it places them in hibernation.
