Hey there, for the mods i made i mostly took units from unit packs and modified them into other units.
For my first mod i tried to create a unit off my own (read and vieuwed guides trough Youtube) but for some reason, even if i edit the name off the unit and follow the guide from youtube.
It doesn't become a selectable unit name at the units table.

Can you maybe tell me what im doing wrong?

You will need to explain what you are trying to do a little bit more, what do you mean by a selectable unit name at the units table?

At the DB file: "land_units_tables" when i made the units "Epirote warriors" out off Hastati.

In the "short_description_text" when i want to look for the name off that unit to add it there, it doesn't show the name and copy paste it from "Unit_description_short_text_tables" doesn't work.
(not a valid value, np matching value found although i made all the other stuff already).

Do you mean that it shows a lot of error boxes? for the most part you can ignore those.

No i mean, i created that unit but at the "land_units_tables" i can't select the file name for that unit.
So i can't link it with his armor, weapon, stats,... "epi_warriors" doesn't show in the table "Unit_description_short_text_tables" .
Only the unit names from CA or the mod pack itself are shown but not the unit name i made.

I don't have this proble, because I have an earlier version of PFM, I'll try and find out how to fix it and get back to you.

Try editing the main units tables first and give the unit a unique index, that might make it selectable.

Figured it out. You simply go to File, My mods, New mod, Enter new mod name, Select the Mod pack you made previously, Then go back to the Pack Editor. Then your unit will show up in the "Unit" scroll down thing.

What?! you figured it out? So what you just reload the mod? I don't really get what you did.

Thx to you 2, i did what you said (index) and Cortez250 said and it worked. I had to save and close the file completly, when i opened it again it work like it should :D

Hey Sebidee. Been at this all day and I am stuck on one thing. The mask layer for unit cards was a little unclear in your tutorial. What is the "special color"? I am at a complete loss of what it is and what that means. I do not understand how the layer gives you the proper faction color like you demostrated with the armored falx unit.
Sebidee  [developer] 30 Jun, 2014 @ 4:12pm
Well I may be wrong but it apears that its the colour you need for the mask though I think white works too.
Mathus 30 Jun, 2014 @ 4:26pm
Fox example: Where did you get the blue for your coloring on the dacian armored falx? Does the mask layer automatically apply it? I have done it in several colors and it appears in game in the same color, not the dacian faction blue. I guess what I am trying to ask is how do does the mask apply? The tutorial is not very clear on this step.
Sebidee  [developer] 30 Jun, 2014 @ 4:33pm
First of all I'm guessing that you are painting those colours on the icon and not the mask. The mask automatically applies the faction colour and will be needed if your unit is going to be on the opposite side in a civil war or will be shared among different factions. Find a vanilla mask in Models_rome2 to see exactly what it is.

Yeah I totally understand that and have not made that mistake, but I think I just figured it out that the mask color palate was reversed or something. Thanks for the help and the great tutorial.
