Dead County V2
Kyle's Review of "Dead County" - 4/5
A fair challenge with key issues. 4/5 stars.

Dead County is a solid campaign with a focus on massive, open spaces in mostly outdoor environments that gives it surprisingly unique gameplay. You'll run out of ammo if you're not careful, molotovs are way less useful, and you're always in danger from zombies in the bushes -- it's Blood Harvest on steroids! Every level is detailed, believable, and gorgeous apart from occasional issues with ugly fog. I especially like when you can see past or future maps from your current location.

There are just a few problems. Weapon variety is severely lacking, especially for secondaries. Crescendo events will trigger with no explanation, not even squawking birds. The finale is the biggest issue because the massive environments make it too easy: hordes are too spread out to threaten you and Tanks can outright despawn. The run to the rescue boat, meanwhile, is a difficulty spike.

Still, this is worth a go. It's one patch away from being a 5-star campaign.

Thanks for your rewiew Kyle and some great feedback.

I'm currently working on a update that fixes quite a lot for the campaign and hope it will make the map a lot more fun!

I'm sure it will be an excellent update! I mostly write reviews for the players' sake, but I'm always happy when mod authors find the feedback useful ^_^

You may have already had this idea, but one easy thing that could make the finale more claustrophobic (in a good way) is adding in environmental hazards. Maybe an explosion goes off every few minutes that leaves part of the finale area on fire and less accessible to Survivors. Bonus points if hazards are randomized!
