Finally managed to get some output logs.
All three are from the same game. 1 is for the first exit to desktop. 2 is for a loaded save without stopping the game. 3 is after exit of 2.

Some points to add to previous description. The "Freeze" still allows the menu and actions which are approved while loading. It just doesn't load, ever.

The game is able to exit via "esc" but even if the file is reloaded it simply restarts the bug.

ALSO, I now know that it can happen on any round. We just got unlucky and had it on later rounds earlier :(

It always happens in every game you play as long as you don't manage to finish before it appears. (We have not been able to do this.)
