try to double click the rootscale thingi and play with the numbers... It should work (or atleast i think so)

I learned that it is possible to edit the minimum and maximum scale values, and was able to use that to get it big enough. The issue with scaling it up though is that its bigger than the vbox used to determine whether or not to render the model, so to avoid the model disappearing at certain camera angles you need to bind the highest bone in the heirarchy and move the root transform around.
