Maybe add ammo pouches, with limited or unlimited ammo, you can set the number of ammo you want in the pouch by right click and clicking "Set ammo limit" and to make it unlimited click "Set unlimited" you should be able to attach the ammo pouch on the waist of the humanoid, and click F with a humans hand near the pouch to take out a mag, bullet, or etc and load gun easily.
