Mingebags (incredibly smart) (still works)
Question: Wiremod Detection
How do I use wiremod to detect them? It says you can in the description, but I can't wire anything to the cone, and I don't see anything when I search the wiremod menu for "mingebag."

If I can create a detector with Wiremod, then I can activate an alarm automatically, and be alerted to their presence much sooner.

The cone only lights up briefly when a Mingebag enters the server. So if you miss it, you miss it, until you use your physgun on the ground.

you would need to be some sort of master wiremod engineer to get your own detector
if you are purposefully hunting minges i would just sit with the cone and wait

I shouldn't need to be a "master" at Wiremod in order to figure out how I am suppose to detect them in the first place. Given the description, I assumed there would be some sort of integration with Wiremod. A component, or maybe the cone itself could be wired into.

Since I can't see anything obvious, my only guess is you'd have to somehow detect the physical model or something in the world.

Also, just sitting and staring at a cone isn't the best thing to be doing with my time.

Would be nice if we could at least get a "Mingebag present" output on the cone, or maybe even "bearing" and "distance" outputs for getting a direction and, with math logic, an approximate location.

well i guess i cant really speak as i have no experience with wiremod
I've been doing some testing to see what they mean by being able to detect them with wiremod as I'm trying to build an automatic minge turret, but so far I havent found much
I used the ranger to print every id possible on a minge and got no results, no steamids or entids show up on them, next I'm testing the target finder but not enough have shown up yet to show anything conclusive

This filename for the minges does actually work, it doesnt summon anything visible but it is seen as an existing entity by the console and creates an invisible point that target finders will see, yet none of the wiremod parts i can find will detect actual minges, even with this information, only the invisible ones summoned with this tag
Point being all testing so far has shown that the minges are seemingly not an npc or entity, I've kind of hit a wall at the moment

what i do is i spawn a bunch of security cameras with tool gun, and look on them to spot Mingebags. recommended to do it at high points in the corners of the map

I call that manual detection... Not quire automatic like I was lead to believe was possible.
Would like to know about this as well

I suspect Mingebags might be invulnerable to automatic turret defenses (if that was even possible) for.... specific reasons.
I know the truth about these Mingebags...
then if you do how come you can't figure out wiremod detection?
