UNACCESSABLE SHIPYARD FIX!!!!
Old: Hello, ive seen alot of comments saying that this mod doesnt work, that the shipyard is not accessable, bla bla bla. Well hereis what YOU need to do. Go and get "ShipsVigoCentral", this will add all the ship mods from the Workshop to the Vigo station. Close the game if you haven't already, and restart it. Go into the "mods" tab and install "ShipsVigoCentral", be sure to check the box beside the two mods otherwise this will not work. And then, Ta-Da! You can now roleplay as Captain Kirk. Or some of the other captains from the Federation.

As of 7/4/2018 this "fix" is obsolete.

loaded this mod just so i can use the star trek themed ships but it made my game unplayable as the entire starfield of the game turns into different colors of blue, pink, green solid colors. is there a fix for this? how can I use the star trek mods without using this mod?

The only fix I know is to "verify integrity of game cache" from the properties menu on the "files" tab when you right-click Starpoint Gemini 2.
