Zeta Players | The Sandbox Nextbots
The game Crashes after 7 minutes
for some reason after spawning any zeta player, everything goes smoothly for exactly 7 minutes, then the game freezes instantly and crashes...

i tested in various ways to understand why that happends, but i didn't find any solution, nor the exact cause of that, what i came up tho may help.
Before i begin, here are some useful informations:

I play on the x64 branch of gmod with these launch options:
+exec autoexec.cfg -console -high -threads 16 -heapsize "16777216" -processheap -directX 9.0 -useforcedmparms -noforcemaccel -noforcemspd -condebug
The autoexec.cfg file contains these parameters:

now, onto the problems...

- The game crashes after 7 minutes WITH and WITHOUT mods.

i trien for numerous times with all addons disabled and restarting garry's mod multiple times to be sure that it loaded the vanilla game, but the crash occurs anyway after 7 minutes... Altough nothing happends if i spawn zetas (even a lot of them) and disable their A.I.


- The crash is not caused by the Zetas spawning stuff.

i tested this by disabling everything and removing every prop, entity, npc etc from the panels in the settings.


- The crash occurs (most of the times) when zetas recive damage.

So, i tried most things like leaving them to their own, make them fight or fighting with them, in most cases the game crashes after they recieved any type of damage... But in every other case it just crashes without them doing anything strange (always after 7 minutes)


- The crash still occurs after clearing garry's mod cache, download cache, workshop cache AND also after deleting all the configuration files i could find about the Zeta Players.

i don't know if there is a way to completely reset to default you zeta player configuration, but some settings did reset, but the game crashes anyway...



I know i'm not the only one who has this issue, so, if anyone has some idea on why this happends, i'll be happy to know, so other people can fix it aswell.

UPDATE:
so, apparently, ONE of the main causes is the "Wandering Distance" option.
when set to high (for example 15000) it causes this issue.

Nothing I can fix.
maybe cuz you got alot of playermodels
the playermodel limit for the zeta players is 15

there is a limit???
i don't think, i'm able to cache a large size of playermodels thanks to my gpu that has 8GB of VRAM... (yes, all the cached models go in the VRAM for some reason...)
anyway... i have no idea how but apparently it doesn't happend anymore...
i just forgot that this discussion was still open XD
