If you want to continue an already-started campaign, this is how you add the upgrades/resources from your current savefile.

In the beginning make sure you select "Start New Game with Addons" when starting new campaign from the chapter you're currently on.

The following are commands you'll need:

Firstly you need to enable the console. To do that, you should add "-console -vconsole" to startup options of Alyx. In-game you activate the console with the ` symbol(on the left of "1" on the keyboard).

Once you've loaded the chapter, Start off with typing command "sv_cheats 1" to the console to enable cheats. You can disable them with "sv_cheats 0" after you're done.

The weapons themselves should be given to you by the game, but the upgrades need to be added manually.


Weapon Upgrade commands
------------------------------------------
SMG - "hlvr_rapidfire_grant_upgrade 6" - Extended magazine for SMG
- "hlvr_rapidfire_grant_upgrade 5" - Laser Sight/Pointer
- "hlvr_rapidfire_grant_upgrade 4" - Reflex Sight

Shotgun - "hlvr_shotgun_grant_upgrade 3" - Double Shot for Shotgun
- "hlvr_shotgun_grant_upgrade 2" - Laser Sight/Pointer
- "hlvr_shotgun_grant_upgrade 1" - Grenade launcher
- "hlvr_shotgun_grant_upgrade 0" - Autoloader


Pistol - "hlvr_energygun_grant_upgrade 3" - Burst mode for Pistol
- "hlvr_energygun_grant_upgrade 2" - Extended Mag
- "hlvr_energygun_grant_upgrade 1" - Reflex Sight
- "hlvr_energygun_grant_upgrade 0" - Laser Sight


Resin/Ammo
-------------------

To give the exact number of resources(ammo, resin) you will use the command.


"hlvr_setresources <Pistol ammo> <SMG Ammo> <Shotgun Ammo> <Resin>"


These values represent the exact number of ammo in each gun.

If you had for example 50 bullets in Pistol; 120 bullets in SMG; 8 shells for Shotgun and 20 Resin, the command would look like this:
"hlvr_setresources 50 120 8 20"


After all this, make sure you saved the game. You should now have the exact number of upgrades/resources you had initially in your campaign.
I'm sorry for these extra steps, but it seems that's just how Addons are implemented into Alyx.

What do you mean by them not working? Can guns not be upgraded?

I believe that he meant that weapon upgrades mysteriously disappeared after going to the next map. Happened to me, and I had a saddle-full of extra shotgun shells. To say I was annoyed would be an understatement. Before you ask, I wasn't using any other mods that make script changes that could've caused this.

Additionally, this mod is incompatible with any mod that makes even the most minor of tweaks to the player. Glove loader, flashlight toggle button, and the resin detector mod, were all tested to cause the crowbar to spawn floating outside of your hand.

Yes, the mod is currently incompatible with Scalable Init Support(so mods that use it or need modify the player in other ways will most likely cause issues), but that will be added later with the all-map version. I'm still waiting for more feedback about possible bugs.

And on the topic of bugs, thank you for detailing the weapon mod issue. I'll look into it right now.

I'll test if everything is working and then I'll most likely update it tomorrow.

It should be now fixed. If you get a chance to play the mod again, let me know if it was fixed for you.

My weapons have dissapeard and I can't select them because in the weapon menu only appears the hand (neither multitool).

Hey!

If you get into this situation, try to re-quip the Crowbar, and the weapons should be given back to you.

I assume it happened after a level load, right? Do you remember which map it was so I can look into it?

It's possible the Crowbar didn't deselect automatically, in which case you want to have it Disabled manually before going to a new level(basically just equip weapons). So try to load an earlier save where you had the weapons and make sure that when you're near a level-load, you deselect the Crowbar.

I don't remember exactly when I lost the weapons because I carried the crowbar almost all the time, but I think that was when I started the "Is or will be" chapter.

In fact, I got the shotgun and used it but when I unequipped it, I lost it too.

My last savegame where I have the pistol is very old and it sucks having to repeat it.

The game should be doing autosaves all the time, especially before a level ends, so getting to the right time should be easy.

And are you sure the weapons aren't given to you? If you have the shotgun after the level loads, then everything should be working fine.

Try equipping/uneqipping the Crowbar one more time, then press the button to open the "weapon menu", wait a second and open the "weapon menu" again to equip the weapons.


If it still doesn't, could you please check one thing?

Open the console and write: "ent_find @Give_"

and tell me if any results come up


Also, did you still have weapons before going to the next level?

Well, nothing worked, but I was able to recover my weapons using "give" command.

sv_cheats 1
give item_hlvr_weapon_energygun
give item_hlvr_weapon_shotgun

Sorry for the inconvinience, I'm glad you found a solution yourself.

If you will play Alyx with the mod in the future, would you mind giving the command "ent_find @Give_"?

There should be at least three results coming up - "@Give_pistol", "@Give_shotgun", "@Give_smg".

One explanation for why the weapons weren't given immeditelly to you is that these didn't get spawned properly, so I just want to check.
