Crusader Kings III

Crusader Kings III

Total Animation - All Portraits Are Animated
Not working
I have unsubbed and resubbed to the mod, and it does not work, even if I run it by itself. I'm not running any other version of CK3. Any ideas?

I just ran the mod by itself, and it still isn't working.

IDK, could be a Steam or Paradox Launcher issue. Double check you've got the mod active in the right playset and you're selected the right playset in the launcher. Try unsubbing and resubbing to the mod in Steam. In the laucher try reloading all mods.

You can see if the mod is on your drive by going to your Steam folder, the filepath usually starting in your Program Files folder (or where ever you have Steam saved):
\steamapps\workshop\content\1158310\2776769431

You can take the gui folder from there and place in it your own custom mod and test.

I have gone so far as manually deleting the mod directory a few times, because a mod was not updating properly

@Morven -

I followed those directions. The file path exists and it contains the mod. I created the mod with the GUI folder and tested that by itself. It's still not working.

Any ideas?

Not sure m8, it's definitely working on my end. My only two suggestions would be first making sure you've got the right mod active in the right playset, and you've selected the right playset in the launcher that you've activated the mod in (that's the main mistake I've made if a mod doesn't appear to be working for me, having the wrong playset active when I click play). The second is are they animating but not to your level of expectation? They don't move much in their little windows, just small head bobbles and such. The Jimena family in Castile/Leon/Galicia at the 1066 start are one of the more animated families, in some characters the animations may not be noticeable at first pass.

The mod works by replacing the vanilla entries for "GetPortrait" in the gui folder to "GetAnimatedPortrait", mainly in the \gui\shared\portraits.gui file.
