climb up and use gatherer's garden machine

How should i interact with the Maschine because i can not Cross the Shelves which are between me and the machine

Go into the canal, grab the flashlight next to the first body (it glitters) and put it on your hand. Then continue down the canal a little ways and there's a ladder you can climb up, you'll come out on the other side of the shelves closer to the Gatherer's Garden machine. It's easy to miss because on first glance I thought this ladder was how I'd originally descended into the canal, but it's not.

Unfortunately I was so disappointed by using the machine (which felt very unpolished) and all the plasmid stuff that followed in a mini-tutorial (that was un-exitable for me) that I quit the game there.

I found that section very confusing as well. It took me a while to figure out I had to eat the slugs, and to eat enough to get the machine to start working. once I had the plasmid syringe I had no idea what to do with it. I ended up in the tutorial room but didn't know how. I didn't know what to do in there or how to use the plasmid. pushed all the button i had but nothing worked. I ended up shooting all the targets with my gun to activate the exist button and get out of there. It was until much further into the game I accidentally activated the plasmid menu that I realized what was up. Maybe there was a clipboard somewhere with instructions that I missed, I'm not sure. maybe put a clipboard in the tutorial room that explains how to bring up the plasmid menu and use it.

do you have hints enabled in main menu? we tell you what to do with hints but that wont work if its disabled

we wil also put extra text on walls and extra clipboard explaining thank you for awesome feedback
