Feedback: Finished playing 1940 pt. 1 & had to reserve all artillery in favor of aircraft. The phased movement of the aircraft heroes are quite fun while the lack of the ability to move even 1 hex and fire w/ 21's is not so much so. I'm about even relative to my feelings on the changes to 15cm anti-tank mode, leaning slightly toward more fun. They certainly do make you think as a 15cm turning to AT mode can lever up the AI's ability to deal damage considerably (perhaps destroying a unit). The AA guns are fun (especially the mechanized versions) but slightly OP perhaps IMO. Something really needs to be done for the 17/21 cm's (as they are essentially useless now).

Why have the 2cm Flak (incl. SdKfz 10/4) a range of 1 (2 on a hill) in AT mode? I really like it but its weird that the higher calibers (3,7 and 8,8) have a range of 0. Especially the 88 was used extensively against ground targets and ofc had a far superior range than the small guns.

The He112 B has the same stats as the Bf109 B except -1 AirDefense for the same cost and it more or less appears at the same time making it instantly obsolete. As it was armed with cannons maybe give it +1 air attack or +2 air attack and -1 initiative to give it a niche.

When switching to fighter mode the Bf110 has SA [3] and HA [2] and can therefore not attack ground targets. With the Bf109 its the other way around. Do these stats do anything or why are they not set to 0? Just curious.


Weird idea for artillery: Maybe it should be changed completely. Until the recent change the usual tactic was to keep 15cm arty in the second line to defend against attacks. These direct fire support happened irl but was quite rare.
The scale or arty doesnt fit the rest of the game anyway so why not try to move it to its historic role. This could be archieved by a massive range increase and maybe a slightly reduced damage and maybe 25% more slot cost. The 10,5cm gets range 6, the 15cm range 8 and the 21cm range 10. Ammo for all is reduced to 1. The 7,5 cm, the 8,8, the Stugs, Stuhs aso should have range 2, soft and hard support but no crazy numbers and be used for direct fire support..
This would bring the guns to their historic roles and makes the smaller guns relevant while changing the tactics for the game completely.
