Ravenfield
Hijong Park's AH-64A Apache
translated description
The AH-64A is the first version of Apache for the world's most powerful attack helicopter.

Key features include

Realistic flight model like no other mod

1. torque phenomenon: Raising the collective causes a torque phenomenon, which causes the helicopter to turn in the opposite direction of the main propeller. To prevent this, you need to step on the rudder to the left. As the forward speed increases, the torque phenomenon decreases.

2. drifting phenomenon: If you press the rudder to the left to counteract the torque phenomenon, the helicopter will start to move slightly to the right due to the lift generated by the tail rotor.

3. effective transition lift: When the forward speed of the helicopter increases, the helicopter will receive additional lift.

4. retractor stall: If the helicopter is flying too fast, it will create a large vibration that can become uncontrollable. It is dangerous to fly faster than the red line on the speedometer.

5. vortex stall: If you lose altitude rapidly while hovering, the helicopter will enter a vortex stall and start to fall, and it will get worse if you raise the collective to gain altitude. This is the most dangerous condition, so when landing, you should always move forward and reduce your altitude.

6. Engine overheating: If you raise the collective above 100, the engine temperature will start to increase, and if it reaches the limit, the engine will be completely damaged. You should only raise the collective to the maximum when absolutely necessary and normally fly below 100.

This flight model is designed for use with the flight joystick, throttle joystick, and rudder joystick. If you're comfortable using a keyboard and mouse, enable Arcade Mode.

Advanced Autohover Mode

Instead of a weird autohover that just aligns your cyclic clicks, we now support proper autohover functionality.

To activate autohover mode, you must press the autohover key when the helicopter is at speed 8 or less.

Since the real Apache helicopter does not have autohover capability, this autohover is considered to be hovered by the co-pilot. Therefore, you cannot use autohover without a co-pilot.

Target Acquisition and Designation Sight

TADS is used to locate targets and aim weapons.
There are four aiming modes

Lock Forward (keypad1): The TADS is always locked forward.

Manual Control (keypad2): Use the arrow keys to manually control the TADS. Press again to have the Gunner take control.
If you direct TADS at an enemy vehicle, it will be targeted and TADS will continue to track it.

Pilot Helmet Aimer (keypad0): Allows TADS to follow the pilot's head and attack where his eyes are looking.

Gunner Helmet Aimer (keypad3): TADS will follow the Gunner's head. The Gunner will fire his chaingun when he spots an enemy.

IHADSS

The IHADSS displays useful flight information and weapon aiming points. Press / to hide it.

M230E1 Area Weapon System

The Apache's 30mm machine gun.
Accuracy is increased by turning on the laser targeting indicator.

Configurable Armament

After landing on a helipad or waypoint, you can change your Pylon's armament with the arrow keys.

1. 38 Hydra Rocket

Four types of Hydra rockets are available: M151, M247, M156, and M261.

The M151 is a general-purpose high-explosive rocket.

The M247 is an anti-tank high explosive rocket that does more damage to armored vehicles.

The M156 is a white phosphorus smoke grenade rocket that is lethal to humans.

The M261 is a multi-purpose cluster bomb rocket that scatters nine M73 grenades.

2. AGM-114A Hellfire

The Apache's most powerful weapon, so powerful that destroying a vehicle kills everyone inside.

By pressing the crouch key, you can change the Hellfire's firing mode to HI or DIR.

HI mode is a top-attack that will destroy vehicles in one shot, but will miss if you're too close and won't hit flying targets.

DIR mode makes it easier to hit helicopters, but they fly in a straight line, reducing their power, so you'll need to aim high to destroy tanks in one shot

Firing without keying the laser will send the Hellfire flying high upwards for a LOAL (Lock On After Launch) attack.

The maximum range is 800.

Aerial Rocket Sub system

The AH-64 has a rocket pod that rotates to make the rockets hit more accurately.

When you lock the TADS on a target, the rocket cursor will move and you can hit the rocket by maneuvering the helicopter appropriately so that the cursor is centered and firing while the cursor is dotted with a single line.

Because the rocket is affected by the movement of the chopper, firing with the accel cue centered will increase the hit rate.

The rocket pod is divided into five zones, and you must select a zone with the Deception key + 1-5 to fire.

Advanced Missile Deception Systems

There is an AN/ALQ-144 IR jammer and a flare injector.

The IR jammer is activated by pressing ;and the flare is fired by pressing 4.

When activated, the jammer will jam missiles, but it does not always succeed, and the heat from the jammer increases your chances of being spotted by enemy forces when it is on. It is recommended that you only use it briefly and only when absolutely necessary.

The Flare Injector holds 30 flares, and if you run out, you'll need to land on a helipad or waypoint to replenish it.

There are three things to consider when using flares

- If the missile is too far away or too close, the flare will be ineffective. It should be used when the missile is at the proper range.

- If the helicopter is not moving fast enough, the flare will be less effective. You should fly as fast as possible while firing the flare.

- Even when the optimal conditions for firing the flare are created, there is no guarantee that it will always succeed in disrupting the missile.

You can command the co-pilot to take control of the jammer and flares by pressing keypad 4.

AN/APR-39 Radar Alert Receiver

Displays detected hazards in the helicopter's vicinity.

Turret = +5

Helicopters = -.

Fixed-wing aircraft = Λ

Missile = number

Other vehicles (UNKNOWN) = U

Rectangle = object attacking the helicopter

Spawn Position Correction

Once the helicopter spawns inside the hangar, it will automatically move forward and you can use it even if you change the airplane to a helicopter.
