Suggestion for HQ
I just learned that the mod from PMV - see https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/workshop/filedetails/discussion/2799634962/3783625705370276601/ - got the feature that the time only proceeds if the HQ is provided with some particular goods, depending the era.

In YSI it's like this if I didn't get it wrong:
If the HQ is provided with PAPER or MAIL the maintenence cost is lowered. I don't know by how much and for long, though.

My suggestion:
Implement a similar feature to your mod, but slightly different.
  1. if the HQ is provided with MAIL, the maintenence cost is lower in the following quarter of the year
  2. if the HQ is provided with PAPER, the time proceeds for one month for each unit, same as PMV's mod
So the player can control by gameplay if the time proceeds or not.

I was planning to do something with the HQ, but due to lack of programming knowledge, I did not manage to do something interesting, that would add to the fun. So, in the end, the delivered paper does nothing.

I've put TpF aside because of the atrocious performance since the last update. I reported the severe performance drop a few times, but it seems devs did not find a solution for the bad performances lots of people have noted.

So, as long as the game keeps unplayable like this, I prefer not to play this game. Sorry
