Slay the Spire

Slay the Spire

The Dregs
My take on the character
i feel like the character at the base line is actually really weak. There's a lot of complex keywords and cards to this character; not as in complicated, but more they are meant to pieces to bigger decks, but what the deck doesn't have is anyway to assure these things are useful.

Seal is a powerful but complex bunch of keywords. A lot of cards want to be seal, but next to none of them that you can control the acquisition of are curses, and your most common form of sealing only seals curses, and no seal effects are all that powerful in the first place without seal synergy built in. So what's my motivation in taking seal cards? picking up an unplayable card that gives me a benefit and praying i get something that interacts with it, or vice versa?

While this might sound like thematic flavoring; the character feels at odds with itself. The character seems to do nothing important immediately, requires full deck dedication to certain keywords and is at the whim of RNG at that point, some of the cards they have are just weaker than the cards they are referencing. Without a bit of luck on my side, i can barely make it out of act one, due to the lack of power cards have at base or finding any powerful cards that are powerful at their basest functions, and a lack of being able to find cards that directly interact with all the keywords flying around.

The thing is i still really like this character, its theming, the creativity of it all. Trust me, if i was not seeing any potential here, i wouldn't be going through all this.I'd literally just uninstall it.

There is a lot of interesting things going on here, but there might be too many things going on here, or atleast without the space to support everything that is going on there. You've done excellent work here, but it just needs a bit of polish.

I find that playing this character like Watcher is pretty good for act 1. Usually I'd remove 2 defends before strike, cuz the Awoken cards will heal you back anyway, and seeing curses more regularly means free block and scaling for Lash Out. Bonus if you can find the Power that revives you once. Usually I'd seal Defend or Strike instead of curses
