Extra Symbols and Free Draw are compatible indeed, but the issue is that the interface for each overlap on the map menu. Is it good if I bring it up here?

Sorry but I've decided to just say Extra Symbols is incompatible.
I updated the first post with info for any who want to try to get it working, but I will not be providing any further support.

Controller? I would like to use a gamepad to draw straight lines, but I can't "place" the freehand line when using the controller.

+1 for moving the UI so we can use extra map symbols mod at the same time...they do work together in my experience, just the UI's overlap
