Late response but: Probably yes.

In combat it will be nice but I do not know about scripted events.

Yeah, i've used it for the campaign works pretty well. And most scripted events seem to work perfectly fine, and those that don't (which are very very very few) don't break the game.
Just be prepared for some super scaled difficulty in some sections like nova prospekt.
