Suggestions (Particularly for Balance)
I'm hoping if I have this here, I'll actually get meaningfully notified when someone has an opinion about this stuff. As mentioned, I'm a novice and I almost certainly play FU in a way that's not really the average, so my balancing is mostly guesswork.

- I'm probably not going to get rid of most if any of the tile immunities since I despise them. Not Sayter's fault, I get why they're there, but yea. Worth noting, if that's a breaker for you - the source is fully available on Git, and it's pretty frickin' easy to figure out what needs to be changed.

- I'd like to keep these, not 'lore' compatible, per-se, but with a protogen flavour when it comes to perks and nerfs. Little artistic license for starbound.

- Otherwise, have at it. I'd like to hear about thematic ideas in particular, along with any obviously broken values in practice.

This is my personal options, not entirely sure they are completely balanced but seem a little more cohesive to me.

For the racial bonuses:

> +10% energy, +5% Energy regen, +5% speed, -10% fall damage
> +25% Oxygen and breathe half as fast, +3% defense

Resistances:

> +20% phys, +35% cold, +10% darkness
> -40% Electric, -5% cosmic, -20% radiation

Immunities:

> Ice/Slime slip, Insanity, Poison (not proto-poison though)

Environment:

> When electrified -25% Energy regen, -7% defense

> When on cold worlds +15% energy regen, +5% speed
> When on hot worlds -10% energy regen, -7% speed

Weapon traits (following lore):

> 1h ranged Energy weapons, to include mining lasers (non-bow) - +7% (combat) damage, +5% crit chance ((applies to dual wielding as well))
> Pistols/machine pistols/arm cannons + shield - +15% Energy Regen, +10% defense

Techs:
> +5% jump, +10 defense (sphere only)

I'm very busy now with new work and some other stuff, but I like some of those insights. If I ever find the time, I'll be sure I keep a note in my working files to examine this. Some of that will require some additional code which may be a little beyond me (depends what I can adapt that's already in FU). Anyway, thanks for posting - I'll put it in my notes.

Why do I have this sense to pick up this stuff only hours after it posts randomly after months? It's weird. I do it on Reddit, too.

Yeah, felt a bit bad about the supposed necro.
I would strongly suggest comparing notes with other FU mechanical races.

For me I drew stat boons/banes by cross-comparing with the FU tink race and the sergal race (tinks because mechanical/explorers, sergals because more of a feral tech-savvy race which aligned somewhat with protogen lore.)

Also drew from protogen lore which states weaknesses to radiation and "cosmic dust" (and seeing as they are more of an android, temperature having a strong input is warranted), as well as being more handheld equipment aligned when exploring. Figured balancing around 1h ranged would be decent.

No necro to worry about! I left this here specifically to get feedback. Disappointed to see it's about as effective at pinging me as the comments were, though xD

If you don't mind my asking, what's meant by "1h" ranged? I haven't seemingly heard that term...
