Is there a way to disable the sprint hud? I might use this for recording, and it'd be amazing if I could get rid of the numbers

Yes for sure, I can add it as a command. If you don't mind, I'll add it in couple of hours, but It will be done within 24h.

For now you can try the command:

"ent_fire @hand_text setscale 0"

Update adressing this has been pushed, let me know what you think and if everything works fine.

Apart from the hud scale(disabling), I have also added the option to disable the low stamina warning(the heartbeat sound + slight screen blur);
It would be nice if there is an always-sprint option for cfg file.

For me (Oculus Quest 2), the toggle key is overlapping with adjust-height key.
Therefore, Alyx always crouches and stands when I toggle sprint.
And, I don't want to disable the adjust-height key.
I tried to change binding for adjust-height key, but sprint toggle button changed together.

For me, the ejecting-magazine button is not working for sprint toggle.

Hello!

For always-sprint(increased speed) you can use the startup options: "+hlvr_continuous_normal_speed 200 +hlvr_continuous_combat_speed 200" (or use a different value than 200). It's not required to have the mod enabled to use these startup commands.

The public version doesn't allow for changing binds(you can only disable the buttons), but the "Internal Playtest Version" that was linked in the comment section of this mod has that option, so you can change it as you wish.

The greatest mod ever. Waited for it from the release.
Can you please add an option to stop sprinting when stop moving? And add no-sound option from beta to here, because beta don't works for me

Hey,
I'm very sorry for the delayed response, I haven't been around HL:A much lately.
Are you sure the beta version is not working for you? You should have only one Sprint mod enabled at a time (so either the "stable" or the "beta" version). I'd also make sure that no other mod is creating compatibility issues.
As for the automatic stopping, I will have to postpone it for now - I will be unable to do proper playtesting in VR for few more months, and fortunately this isn't either a bug or a new feature that would necessarily need to be added (you only have to press one button to toggle the sprint movement off; And you already stop sprinting when you don't move to regenerate stamina).

Hello. I noticed a bit of a bug - I have my controls configured such that movement is on my weapon (left) hand, which results in the stamina never draining. Looking at the code it appears that "stamina_Drain_function()" only checks the off-hand for walking, it might be better to just always check both.

Hey!

Thank you for the report. If possible, I'd like to ask for few more details:
- By the controls being configured differently, do you mean that you re-bound your SteamVR setting and switched the left and right joystick functions around? If so, it's interesting that the game detects the actual bindings and assigns them to the correct hand, rather than the joystick still triggering actions on the original hand.
- Also, what headset are you using? I know Oculus doesn't have their default set correctly for Alyx.

Now, I don't remember all the specifics of the implementation and can't do a proper testing, so if you don't mind, I will upload a completely separate version (based on the latest beta version) of the mod with this fixed just for you, because it is quite a specific case I didn't account for and I'm not sure what all I could possibly break.

I'm using WMR, and yeah I swapped around the bindings in SteamVR. Valve offers an official set of bindings for each variation. When left-handed, all it seems to do is invert which controller is which.

Hey, you can try the update here. Let me know if it works for you and if you encounter any problems (I can't test it myself, so you'll have to tell me). You should disable all other versions of the Speedbutton mod when this is enabled (only one of them should be enabled at a time).

Is there a way for me to rebind the sprint buttons? With the index controllers I always start sprinting whenever I grab anything with my left hand (which happens quite a lot), I'd much prefer to toggle the sprint by pressing the left thumbstick instead

Hey, you definitely can. Check the latest version here and look into the "Customization" section on it's page:

What does this command do, and do I have to use it along with “+hlvr_continuous_normal_speed if I only need to change movement speed?

Hey,
basically it increases your base movement speed during combat. I'm not sure if it is required alongside the +hlvr_continuous_normal_speed (likely not), but you probably want to keep them both around similar values, so there's not a sudden jump in speed.
