Should be:
Are there any other requirements?
- This mod currently only triggers for your primary spouse
- The court scenes currently only trigger for your own weddings
We know this is quite limiting and will expand that functionality soon!
I'm experiencing an issue where the wedding doesn't start.
The event chain begins (you decide whether to host a wedding or not), I get a couple of events (who to invite, people offering to help with preparations, heirloom) but it simply stops before the actual wedding. The final event that reports that preparations are complete doesn't happen.
At first it happened with a custom character (King of Croatia in 1066) marrying a Lowborn one, so I thought it might be related to both of them not having relatives.
I switched to a historical ruler (still King of Croatia in 1066, so the actual one and not a custom character), and after killing my spouse via debug command and marrying again, the wedding this time proceeded as normal whether I was marrying a historical character with relatives or a Lowborn one without them.
I tried with a different ruler. As Lothaire II in 867, I use the debug command to kill my wife and marry Waldrada (Soulmate at game start), and the wedding never gets to the "preparations are complete". I wondered whether the existing Soulmate relation could be the issue. I tried marrying a historical character and the wedding proceeded without issues, whereas if I married a Lowborn character the event chain stops and the "preparations are complete" part doesn't happen. Interestingly, when I married Lothaire to a historical character and the ceremony worked, the wedding resulted in the spouses becoming Soulmates, so Lothaire ended up with 2 Soulmates (it's supposed to be a unique relationship).
I repro'd the above scenarios multiple times and with just Weddings Expanded installed (so no extra mods, not even CFP + Compatch), launching the game with the option to enable debug. I also tried unsubscribing and subscribing again, making sure the files were properly deleted. The outcomes are always the same:
- Custom ruler of Croatia in 1066 + Lowborn spouse -> wedding doesn't complete
- Historical ruler of Croatia in 1066 + either Lowborn or historical spouse -> works
- Lothaire II in 867 marrying Waldrada (Soulmate) -> doesn't complete
- Lothaire II in 867 marrying a historical character -> works
- Lothaire II in 867 marrying a Lowborn spouse -> doesn't complete
Not sure if I'm missing anything obvious, sorry about the long post!
Hi @Ryūichi!
Thank you very much fo the detailed post, was able to replicate the issue.
The event chain bugs out when there are no parents to have preparation events with.
We will work on a fix immediately!
Just wanted to report what I assume is a small localization bug, see the top choice in the following screen
