ad a bone (or a stick) to call the dog to you or to play a game of "fetch".

I was going to say if they go too far away they teleport back like it minecraft but the bone/stick idea is better.

Add an item that allows you to command the dog to sit follow or wander

That was easy enough so I did add moving ears. They dont move much but they do now
