The creator doesn't really care to be fair.
I think the issue is that it's not immediately apparent there is a mod conflict as the mod APPEARS to be functioning, with all the UI additions still showing up and the population screen still gives detailed information, but they are actually conflicting and causing a lot of things to basically break down. So for example with the empire the ammunition tracker, when not functioning, would stay at 100 and not recognize any changes in regards to how much the army is receiving from the region or how much was depleted (food or ammunition.) It would also screw up the morale system by not recognizing all + modifiers so you're essentially stuck in negative. Also also settlements would stagnate and not have any immigrants or emmigrants.
Not sure how useful this is for the others, but I hope this helps narrow it down. If nothing else maybe a note in the mod page that the mod could be non-functioning even if the population screen still shows up (SOME factions had it blank during this conflict, but not all.) However what I found to be a pretty easy check was to see if the rations tracker (that thing at the top left with the three brown bars) for an army was displaying '100' and no + or - modifiers/information when moused over.
Hope this helps, this mod is awesome and playing without it definitely leaves the feeling that the campaign is missing some depth.
