Now, I did say that there was lore attached to this.

But what is it, you might ask?

Well, there's FAR too much to explain here,
So I'll just give the jist of it.


Here we go...

I made Godmode as a vent for myself.
I was extremely anxious, depressed, lonely, etc..
I struggled with acceptance. Really badly.

Self acceptance and acceptance from others.

And I decided that I was gonna take my favorite game,
The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth, and I was gonna
Fashion it to tell my story. A story of despair,
And eventually it turned into accepting myself.

What kinds of things have lore, you might ask?

Well, the stages have some lore attached.

Metallicon and Ferrum are factories, they
Represent how mechanical and single minded
People can be. How self absorbed they can be.

The Deep Caverns and The Ruins don't have
Much lore, I'll admit that. They more represent
Exploration of one's mind.

The Coals and The Inferno represent the sparking
Furnace. They're the Furnace before it happens.
It's the tension building up.

Caeno is the murky, muddy oil of which the Furnace burns,
and it rests on top of the Sanctuary. This entire figure
is all mental.

The Palace and The Temple are both the same place.
If you see it as The Palace, you're aspiring
For the peace and quiet of mind.
If you see it as The Temple, you're aspiring
To rid yourself of your worst demons.

The Furnace represents the burning, red,
Blinding mindset of your worst demons coming for you.
You can't think straight, your breath is held, it's
Meant to ruin your calm.

The Sanctuary represents the wish for peace,
The wish to rid yourself of all these cruelties,
But also knowing that just wishing won't make it work.
It's desperation in the simplest form.

Conscivis is the land where the lost souls roam...

And that's all I'll spoil about the lore. The rest is
In pieces hidden through different bosses, items, cards,
Fortunes, everything.
