You can enable "Use normal death ragdolls" for the same effect

The problem is they get removed on respawn, I'd rather keep them

Compatibility/expandability wise, adding hooks would be really nice. As well as stuff like damage scaling, they could also be good for things like allowing another addon to add extra constraints on whether a player can currently unragdolise.

Player Tumbler is now compatible with RagMod Reworked!

Compatibility with toolgun cameras? When ragdolling while viewing the game through a camera, Ragmod overrides it and uses one if its views instead.
