Base Abilities:
[Undying]: This unit will return to life 2 turns after it falls in battle with 35% of its maximum HP. This effect only works once per battle.
[Whispers of fallen heroes]: Targeted friendly unit is not affected by morale penalty and its health cannot go below 1 for the current turn.
Veteran Rank Medal:
[Second chance]: The war spiritual ancestor sacrifices itself to resurrect targeted dead friendly unit with 50% HP. Undead, machine and incorporeal units cannot be affected.
Expert Rank Medal:
[Create Monument of Fallen Heroes] : The war spiritual ancestor sacrifies itself to create a Memorial of the Fallen heroes on target location.

Provides +5 Knowledge.
Infantry and Pikemen units produced in the domain of the city obtain the ability Glory of fallen heroes.
[Glory of fallen heroes] - Free action - Once per battle
Unit using this ability is not affected by morale penalty and its health cannot go below 1 for the current turn.

---------------- New Empire upgrade -----------------------

[1] “Hunter Lineage”
Research Cost: 180, Tiers III, permanent research
Your scouts will now evolve to Monster hunter at gold rank, and your Monster Hunter units obtain the Collect Trophies ability.
[Collect Trophies] - Free action
Consume targeted Animal, Monster, Fey, Giant or Dragon corpse on the battle field to regain 4 HP and increase permanently your maximum amount of HP by 2. This ability can stack.

[2] “Relics of war”
Research Cost: 180, Tiers III, standard research
Allow the creation of three new weapon items in the Arcane Forge, the Axe of devastation, the Emperor shield and the Monster Hunter Pride.

[3] “Ogre Blood injection”
Research Cost: 700, Tiers VI, permanent research
All your Infantry and Mounted Units obtain the Ogre Blood injection ability, which allow them to regenerate their vitality and increase their damage at the cost of going berserker. Heroes and Archer units are not affected.
[Ogre Blood injection] This unit injects itself a shot of Ogre blood and instantly gains +3 Physical damage, will regenerate 10% of HP per turn for the rest of the battle then goes Berserk for 2 turns. Berserking units don't obey orders. Instead, they attempt to attack the nearest unit with their Melee attack.

---------------- New Weapon craftable -----------------------

[Axe of Devastation]: Increases your melee damage by 2 physical and gives you access to the Whirlwind strike ability.
[Whirlwind strike]: Attack targeted enemy unit and all other enemy units around it with a melee strike.

[Emperor Shield]: Gives you +2 Defense and +1 Resist and gives you access to the Bulwark maneuver ability.
[Bulwark Maneuver]: Perform a bulwark maneuver and generate a Halo around you giving yourself and surrounding allies +3 Defense as well as +3 Resistance and the Tireless ability for the current turn. Your Hero will guard after using this ability.

[Pride of the Monster Hunter]: Gives you access to the Monster shot ability and the Mark of the Hunter ability.
[Monster Shot ability] Attack targeted enemy unit with a monstrous shot.
[Mark of the Hunter] Target Beast, Monster, Fey, Giant or Dragon unit suffers -20% Physical resistance for 2 turns.


---------------- New Class Building -----------------------

Monument of War: 75 Gold, 50 Mana (Require: Builders’ Hall)
Generates +50 Happiness and +5 Production per turn
Units that are Garrisoned in the city gain a +2 Defense bonus. Units that are Garrisoned in the city without a wall gain an additional +2 physical damage bonus.
Unlocked by the Warrior culture research.

---------------- New Battle Spell -----------------------

“Finale Fortune”
Research Cost: 500, Tiers V
Mana Cost: 50 - All friendly units on the battlefield
Your entire army concentrates its last strength before throwing itself into battle. All friendly units on the battlefield get a steadfast buff for 2 turns which prevents their health to drop below 1 then suffer 500 physical damages. Using this spell will also affect all your units on the battlefield with an exhaustion debuff, which prevent them from regenerating their HP on the strategic map for the next 3 turns and make them unable to benefit from other instances of Steadfast. Undead, Machines, and Incorporeal units cannot be affected.

New Inspire Loyalty spell - Instant spell - Mana cost : 50
All units in targeted stack become extremely loyal to the Empire and get the volunteer ability as well as a +200 Happiness boost.

[Berserker] will now obtain the “Whirlwind strike” ability at Gold rank instead of the “Tireless” ability.

[Hero slaying] Upkeep mana cost decreased by 10

[Dread Siege] Mana cost decreased by 20, Upkeep mana cost decreased by 10

“Garrison Honor” research is removed from the game
“The Draft” research and strategic spell are removed from the game
“Inspire Loyalty” old strategic spell is removed from the game

“Warrior culture” research is now permanent, research cost increased by 50, is now tiers 4 instead of tiers 3.
“Martial Art” research is now permanent, research cost decreased by 200
“War effort” research is now permanent, research cost decreased by 20
“Thoroughbreed” research is now permanent, research cost decreased by 200, is now tiers 4 instead of tiers 5.

“Dread siege” research cost increased by 30
“Death March” research cost decreased by 20
“Inspire Loyalty” research cost decreased by 40

“Steadfast” research cost decreased by 50
“Killing spree” research cost decreased by 50, is now tiers 3 instead of tiers 4



Dev note :
Replacing Tireless by Whirlwind strike for Berserker was a hard choice for me, but with the multiple addition of steadfast instances you can get for them and the obvious synergy I think it’s better for the game balance. In general with the way I chose to develop the mod around the steadfast thematic, Tireless is a topic of concern anyway for Warlord now and I will keep a close eye on this when playtesting the mod.
Similar to the vanilla Rogue class, Warlord makes little use of mana (just a bunch of overcosted & somewhat boring global enchantment spell, some of them definitely worthy but others relatively meh) so the mod also try to change that a lot by regrouping some effects, rebalancing some mana cost and finally providing new interesting ways to spend mana with item crafting or the summon war spiritual ancestor spell.
The mod provides five new research to unlock and the rebalancing of research cost is mainly due to my willingness to limit inflation and keep values relatively close to the original base game.
At the end of the day, the total base research cost for the Warlord class is 10200, with this mod and the five new research it goes up to 10850 (+650 only).
