Kyle's Review of "Fever Dream" - 2/5
Functional, but very messy. 2/5 stars.

Fever Dream has a wonderful premise: a dive into the subconscious where anything is possible. Unfortunately, the Survivors mostly dream of boxy rooms and empty corridors in this one. It's not all bad, but the level design is usually flat, repetitive, and lacking direction.

There's also mandatory platforming where one false move can incapacitate or even kill you, which is hell for bots. Combined with a lack of supplies, this can make your journey surprisingly sluggish for a two-chapter campaign. I guess the good news is that all the holdout events are really easy?

There are highlights, though -- moments of genuine creativity that give you a glimpse of the campaign's potential. Some cool visuals here, a clever idea there. There's a unique crescendo on a moving platform, and I especially loved the opening and ending cutscenes for showing some personality.

Still, I can't recommend Fever Dream. It's fully playable, but it feels like a missed opportunity.

😅 thanks for the honest review, i agree with pretty much everything you said although it hurt a bit to hear from someone else, as well as that you wouldnt recommend others play it. I'm definitely going to being updating the campaign over time to flush stuff out and try to make rooms look less boxy, probably add a bit more explorable space. I would have hoped for a rating higher than 2/5, but i especially wish it didnt come off as a "missed opportunity". nonetheless I really appreciate the feedback and for taking the time to play my campaign ♥️ I know it's not the prettiest but I've definitely put a lot of time and effort into it with more to come

Frankly, your attitude already puts you ahead of a lot of mappers. Don't give up! Your best work is yet to come :er_wave:

This is just a review for public consumption, but I can also give you specific feedback if you want. I find feedback lists from other mappers immensely helpful for my own creations.

I've been criticized a lot before, so I know it stings a little -- but that's how we improve.

Yes, i will delete unnecessary comments that don't give any meaningful criticism, like "maps bad" so get over it. If you really care, tell me why you think the maps sucks and I won't delete your opinion. :health:

Bruh in eairler comments below I told you the map sucks because the spawn in the last level is BS and way to hard, don't go acting like you don't know what im talking about eithier, the first ever post was exactly that, so before you go on a hissy fit about how I say "map bad" and say thats all I said, 1.) It was not "all" I said, and 2.) how about stop being hypocritical and take the "criticism" that I AM giveing you!
