would it be possible to add a config to multiply the compression so instead of 2x it would be 3x and mroe. this speeds up refining of the harder ores like plat and uranium. could even be a block ( or the same block with adjusted stats ) to compress it even more, maybe even lock it to stations only. im maining asking as this would be great for servers to reduce the refineries needed

I can definitely look into that! I've been honestly meaning to bump up the compression speeds for both small and large grid. It's still not quiet at a happy medium.

The reason I haven't changed the compression ratio is because of the weight change. Doubling your ship weight is already pretty bad if you aren't setup to handle it. A changeable config would let it be up to the users though :)

Is there any way to make this work with the Better Stone mod?
Wonzy  [developer] 17 Apr, 2023 @ 4:02pm
I will say probably! I have to look and see how that mod changes the files. If its pretty simple I can make a compatibility version.

would it be possible if you can add https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2558149005 Lifetechs Deuterium into the mod? if not, would just need some changes to the blueprints to add the said items to the compressor, mainly asking as i might be able to add it using the modadjusterV2 https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3017795356&searchtext=modadjuster

Adding the ore would be simple enough, but it looks like it is refined in a special block aside from the refinery. Adding it to that shouldn't be that hard either though, it would just take a bit more effort. I am working on a compatibility mod for another resource mod at the moment, but I can add this one to my list. In the meantime, feel free to take a crack at it yourself. If the mod adjuster doesnt work out, you can tweak the mod and re-upload a different version as long as it is unlisted.

Can you add add compatibility for Better Stone v7.0.11. I Think it would be a great addition to compress those ores.

@flambrust I can add it to my list, it looks fairly straightforward to do but there are a lot of ores to add. I am slowly working on some other compatibility mods at the moment, but I will add this one to my list!

That compatibility for Better Stone would realy be awsome! :D
I like Better Stone and also the ability to compress ores, with your mod.

Thank you for your nice mod and thanks in advance for the compatibility-mod! :D
so its a bit late but as i was looking to do to comparability and change the compression ratio, i came across the ice blueprint and notice this is the only one that is the same as vanilla which had me asking if the compressed ice is actually giving more then the regular ice. im not at my computer to test and wont be for a bit but thought i should ask this now.

does the blueprint for the compressed ice change to give more for the compressed ice or does it just know? as i dont wanna do the same for the Deuterium but it not actually not give more for the compressed version.

im also looking into creating a extra version that compresses way more but require prototech to build and send those files your way also if u wanna add that to the regular mod and/or add a gold trimmed version of the model for the prototech.

ill be doing this from now until my work season ends as i wanna get my server running by the time im off work

@ArcZeroNine So the ice is slightly different than how all of the other ores are compressed, which was due to how the H2 and O2 engines/generators consume them as fuel. I am going off my memory on how I had to do it, but from what I remember, instead of combining 2:1 and doubling the density, the ice is "compressed" on a 1:1 ratio, and halves the density. This allows you to carry twice as much. The reasoning for this was due to the machines converting the ice into gas working off a "per-tick" cycle. You cannot double the amount of yield for specific items, so as a work around, the way I have it still gives you double yield like it should.

As for the rest, I am ramping up to re-touch all of my mods, as well as a few that were close to release that I didn't finish. I can add that to my suggestion list, but it will probably take a fair amount of time to get the balancing right for a prototech version.
going off the ice (as i cant share clips of the screen here) the prerequisite for 1 compressed ice is 1 ice, wouldnt you be able to make the prerequisite 0.5 ice for 1 compressed ice to keep the results the same then?

for a prototech version i was thinking of was working off of the way EVE as the values (if i have the numbers right) which were about 10% for ice and 1% for ores. i was just going to do the 10% or getting 10 iron to make 1 ultra compressed iron (and possibly 0.1 ice to make 1 ultra compressed ice). was going to just add the appropriate prototech components along with a frame or 2. the power requirement was going to be so high u would need a reactor to run 1 or maybe 2 along with making the mass much higher.

im doing something similar to the refinery and assembler mods (speed, yield, power), the models are the same for all but the lights are different and component requirements are changed.

i was planning on using the same models u made for the standard, for the prototech then send you all the files for those (and the lifetech deuterium compression)

if possible we could start a thread in keens modding discord for this as i can atleast share files and screenshots there unless steam allows the same? my discord name is my steam name in keens server

@ArcZeroNine Unfortunately no for the ice requirement. The gas generators don't pull a yield from the ore they are consuming, since it was setup to just work for ice. So 1 item in > X amount of gas. So it wouldn't treat ice differently from compressed. So I fibbed the system, the 1:1 compression just lets you carry twice as much volume of ice in your containers, but they yield the same in the generators.

As for the thread, you are welcome to join my modding discord and we can talk about it more in-depth there (Link is embedded in the discord logo on my mods pages)
Sounds good
