If by 'repairing modules' you're referring to the blue and green tiles in ship modules (the rectangular objects you shove into service hatches to run the ship):

Remove them from ship modules other than the one you want to fix. Though this is generally considered unwise if the modules you're damaging (because it's really just ripping parts out of one module to fix another) are installed in the ship's systems, there's plenty of damaged junk flying around in space that you can transport aboard. This junk can then be used as raw materials.

Raw materials can be used in two ways:

1. Component removal - this can be used to improve the results of method two by rearranging the tiles with your repair tool, or for emergency repairs during combat.

2. Component splicing. This is a bit more complicated, but basically you place a pair of damaged modules (preferably with different tile layouts) into the engineering room's... function hatches(?) and tell the engineering system to splice the two together. At the end of it, the damaged tiles from one module will be repaired by duplicating the equivalent undamaged tiles on the other module, and vice versa. Of course, if both modules have a damaged tile in the same location, the tile will remain damaged - so you may have to repeat the procedure a few times using new modules until you have a large batch of repaired modules to use as spare parts.

If, however, you're referring to ship modules, then use the transporters.

NOTE: Transporters will work a lot more effectively if you set your sensors (the door before the cockpit) to automatically sweep the area. Then you will periodically see a lot of stuff outside your ship. To improve transporter efficiency, get a better power module into the sensor system.

Before you ask, I don't know how the game decides which module is better than another. I'm guessing it has something to do with balancing the blue and green tiles or something... maybe the optimum arrangement is a grid like this:

BGBGBG
GBGBGB
BGBGBG
GBGBGB
BGBGBG
GBGBGB

but I have yet to test this theory.

He just told you.

He's saying turn the sensors to Auto that way every system that rely's on the sensors (Weapons, Transporters, pretty sure the cockpit also) can see if there's ships and salvage in the area.

Once you set them to auto you go to the Transporter room, click System, then click on a red square that says 'Salvage' then click Transport and then it will be brought onto the ship.

This is also the way you get weapons.

Also, regarding module efficiency:

It has come to my attention that you need eight blue and eight green tiles for maximum effectiveness. Ideally, you'll want to make one half blue and the other green so you know the module's optimized, then break (turn it to COMPLETE red) a bunch of other modules and splice them together. Suddenly, your ship runs a lot better!

Edit: That is, once you use those modules in your ship's systems.

Some one probably messed with the life support, if you get to the LF console you can configure the heat. You should set it to 300k.

Its possible ♥♥♥♥ ran into or damaged the room, so the life support system fried a bit. Or it was sabotaged like Basdxz said. Go to the life support console to set the red slider to 300k. The other slider should be at 100%.

well i need help - i know how all this stuff works, i just keep firing at a enemy ship and it does'nt
explode or break apart for me to savage (maybe) the parts. Maybe the creator should work on the battling and also the AI of the ememy, because he just sits there and lets me shoot him.

I assume you are playing this in single player. At the current time this game is pvp only.
When you first join the game you are assigned to a random ship, blue or orange. if you are shooting at the other ship whilist in single player you are shooting at an empty ship with noone on board. Modules don't get broken off ships, they explode and infact the ship cannot even be fully destroyed yet since there are no "Hull Points". This is still a very in-dev gamemode.

I have created a video guide playlist on how to play Final Frontier. I will be adding to it when there are enough updates to cover.

There are more optimal patterns than this. I remember seeing one with a sqare of geen in the middle and corners being more optimal than this.
