Interstellar Hardhat set bonus does not do what it says it does.

Hi, im playing with the Calamity Catalyst Astrageldon mod, and i beat the boss, but when i got the melee armor the set bonus is supposed to double my asteroid rings from 2 to 4 from the other set bonuses but this effect is not working. Anybody knows why?
