Any way to block armies?

Research for unlocking new lords blocked grayed out for everyone except krell, neferata, and archan. Not sure if I am missing something?

Visual Bug of Morghasts

Ritual of Ascension

I've taken the black pyramid and got a quest to raise the black pyramid, but how do I start the ritual of ascension? I can't seem to find it anywhere.

There's a button on the floating settlement banner (where you see the name and income on the 3D map). UX will be improved in a patch tonight.
