This thread was made to collect suggestions of apparel items to add to THIGAPPE's masterlists[gitlab.com] - internal collections of apparel items that need similar special treatment.

I've decided to scrap this suggestion system. It was a worthy experiment, but in practice it's too convoluted. This is mainly because it's hard to make a user-friendly distinction between masterlist additions and fine-tunes.

Masterlists are collections of apparel that can be given similar treatment per race. Because masterlists can be handled uniformly every time I add support for a new race, they are generic.

Fine-tunes are APP Defs tuned for specific apparel items or mods. Because these are a different case per mod, per race, and perhaps even per item, they are not generic.

Scope control is essential for a cross-compatibility project like THIGAPPE. As such, I've decided that THIGAPPE will focus on generic, multi-race APP support. This means steering away from fine-tunes.

If you've found some apparel that needs fine-tuned support, you can try one of two things:
  • Let me know about the problem in the main comment section. I'll tell you if I think I'll be able to solve it within scope.
  • Try adding support yourself with the guide I wrote![gitlab.com] I'd be ecstatic to see more people putting out fine-tuning extensions for their favorite apparel mods.

As of the most recent THIGAPPE update, I've accounted for all of the requests made in this thread that are within scope. If you suggested apparel and find it still looks off, I probably concluded that those items would need fine-tuning.

Suggest additions to the mod's masterlists here.
Include the following:
  • The apparel item's defName (use this tool to get it easily!)
  • The mod the item is from
  • Which mask set you think the apparel should use. Current options include:
    • Full-body skin-layer outfits (e.g. VE jumpsuits, tribalwear)
    • Armor (power armor, plate armor)
    • Pants (pants, VE trousers) (currently restricted to items supported by Visible Pants)
    • Shorts (VE shorts, VE skirts) (currently restricted to items supported by Visible Pants)
    • Items to exclude from the Shell layer (capes, burkas)
  • (Optional but appreciated) An imgur screenshot of the apparel piece with the mask you've picked.
If you are unfamiliar with the purpose of my masterlists, take a look at 2a in the Q&A thread.

This thread is primarily intended for people to post suggestions for adding to the masterlists! Mods that will need entirely new defs to support them (e.g. Angel Apparel) are fine to suggest, but please explicitly state if this is your intention. Rule of thumb: if you can't get apparel items to render satisfactorily by adding them to the mod's AddToMasterlists.xml file, it's not a masterlist suggestion.

All of these can be easily done by changing their mask to power armor mask, except for wheelchair. I honestly have no idea how you would go about patching wheelchair, but I suggest making it not use any mask whatsoever would work.

Thanks for the submission, Archilyte! These all sound like solid suggestions. I'll be sure to include them in the next update.

You're correct about the wheelchair - simply using no mask at all is what I'll do. You can preview what it'd look like by adding to the Shell masterlist (which is actually an ignore list). However, this probably won't look great on the Aya races or on the annelitrice. For that I'd need to make some new defs, which may not come in the next update. We'll see.

Not necessarily a suggestion for the mod itself, but I think you should create a collection of the mods that you create or help create since your Steam page is private. It'll make it easier for people to find all the things that you have created since the Workshop doesn't have a way to really search for mod author iirc. I say this because I wanted to see everything you've done recently, but I could only see all your workshop items in one place by messing around with the URL.

Hey there, thanks for your interest and your suggestions! Actually, at the top of any Workshop item, just above the title, there's a file directory-esque path chain. If you click on WRelicK's Workshop it'll take you to my items.
The recommended mods discussion lists related mods (including those I've worked on). Still, a formal Steam collection for my mods and related projects is probably a good idea. I'll look into that and messing with the settings on my profile to strike a better balance.

Hmm. The layers the VE team chose for those apparel pieces are pretty unfortunate. Vest is Middle and GreatDress is OnSkin. Due to the layer restriction on the masterlisted defs, I can't fulfill that request without adding new defs to every single race. And that's outside of this thread's scope.
I'll at least add GreatDress to the OnSkinFull masterlist. It'll be in next update.
I'll consider adding some general-use, multi-layer targeted defs for purposes like this. Could take some time, though.

Two mods i'd like to see adapted, Halo UNSC - Faction because its neat n.n
but Simple Slavery Collars i think should have been in the game to begin with due to the general rather dark theme of the game XD

i managed to get all the ID's for most of the halo armor and slave collars though i had to do some guesswork based on i couldn't make them yet. though if they follow the naming scheme of the other parts i believe they should be correct. at least i really hope they are XD
sorry if i got these wrong n.n;; im still kinda new to rimworld and learning things :D
but the naming theme seems pretty straight forward.

Hey, thanks for your suggestions! I'm assuming you'd like to see these added to the power armor and collar defs, respectively. I've put adding to the masterlist for these mods on my to-do list.

Unfortunately, if some of the defNames are guesswork, I'll have to verify them all again myself. Perhaps you could reiterate which ones you know for certain?

i know for sure. the ODST and marine armor seems to be just normal armor, but the MJOLNIR would certainly be power armor i just cant get the last techprint for the MJOLNIR research XD

Right, good to know! Is something off about the way the helmets are rendering? Since they're just headpieces, they should be offset correctly by default.
they do fit fine. i think i just added them to the list because i was in focus mode lol. think i just need the bodies fit, and the collars adjusted.

Sure, I'd appreciate it. Should you do so, make sure you mention which masks you think certain apparel pieces should use. From the workshop previews alone, most of those items seem like they should be handled by default.
