psst, Zissi, over here
To trick ck3 into using the English localization for German
  1. create a german subfolder in the mod's localization folder, it must be lowercase spelling
  2. copy all the yaml files from the english localization folder to the new german folder
  3. rename all the files to tag them as german language yaml, so for example abc_l_english.yml should become abc_l_german.yml
  4. Replace the l_english: language tag at the top of each yml file with l_german:

As for translating to German, basically just translate the text between the "double quotes"

However be careful off the
[square brackets]
because they are special commands for ck3, and the simple rule is that you must not translate anything inside square brackets, except for text `inside single quotes` which will be printable command parameters.

For example
[Select_CString( CHARACTER.IsFemale, 'Woman', 'Man')]

Would translate to
[Select_CString( CHARACTER.IsFemale, 'Frau', 'Mann')]

If you were to create a translation that you wanted to donate then you'd have to use a suitable online file hosting platform to get them over to me as steam does not have any means to upload files.

Hey, thank you so much for the explanation. I will look on it on the weekend and try myself of it :D. It sounds feasible as I am a bit known into coding structure (not much). But it should be enough to understand what is a command for CK3 and what is just text. Will keep you posted on it :)
