“Lore Friendly” Balancing Patch (Uploaded)
Click here to go to my modpage.

I’m developing a balance patch for armors, weapons, and backpacks in the game, seeking to enhance lore friendly gameplay and how challenging certain troops can be. This work-in-progress, based mostly on lore accuracy and then gameplay balance, will be frequently updated and will add some minor extra goodies the base mod doesn’t have. Patience, please, as testing and game engine limits dictate the pace. This is in no way meant to demean the original project as it's incredible as is, this is simply a different outlook on the envisioned world through my eyes.

Summary

Medics heal quicker, though item usage remains consistent.

Empire troop stats are adjusted based on class/variant, balancing advanced and base-level troops. In regards to immunities like gas, it has been handed out to helmets/armors across the mod that feasibly can support it.

Backpacks have been tweaked for stacking, pricing, and effects.

Composite armor now leans more towards melee rather than blaster tanking, following lore.

(R.I.S. armor is under review since I lack lore knowledge on this.)

Rebels have been moderately tweaked for better damage output and defense. Further adjustments will follow. So much i can do when the majority of troops simply just wear normal clothing. (Majority of rebels use cloth or leather armor in mod with pretty good blaster resistance. Problem is more advanced troops in empire like scout and stormtrooper use metal plate even if lightly armored. Which is fairly lore accurate.)

Lightsabers now have increased armor penetration.

(Price changes have been reverted until some specific items with odd pricing are all found and tweaked.)

(Basic unarmored rebel troops will still struggle against Stormtroopers, scout troopers and armored army troops. But will have an easier time now and now won't lose every time in roaming party battles. That being said, I’ll be tweaking some roaming party npc spawn changes made by recent Kathun update to keep it lore friendly.)

Remember, higher-skilled NPCs/characters become more powerful in fights. Training takes time but is rewarding.

Future Changes
- Tweak pretty much everything else that the mod has added that directly affects gameplay.
- First priority is to focus on finishing tweaking rebel faction next.
- Add/Alter words used in certain dialogue to use more Star Wars terminology. E.g. Mando's will use more Mando'a terms (Mandalorian language, think Cone Wars Republic Commando's calling each other "Ner vod".). Swear words [might change the terms in the censored dialogue version instead of uncensored dialogue] will be changed to ones used in lore, etc. E.g. Poodoo, Bantha fodder, Fierfek... *Cough* Nerf Herder.

Full patch notes will be on the modpage.

Made the beginning more summarized to help with attention spans lol, left the detailed breakdown for those wanting to know things a bit more in depth.

Uh fixed important typo. Didn't mean to say that rebels "will lose every time" lol.

Oh and by the by R.I.S. armor is from Star Wars Galaxies, here's a page with some of the info on it just a bit. I can't find the website I was thinking of but I'll edit that link to it if I do.
https://swg.fandom.com/wiki/RIS_armor

some info from here https://www.swgemu.com/archive/scrapbookv51/data/20070210183933/index.html

"Extra info on RIS-
RIS used to be bugged and the stats shifted. Everyone complained about the worthlessness of RIS because of this. I can honestly say the stats never shifted on my helm when it was bugged. Maybe im just lucky.

My helm has 61% kinetic resist 37% base resist and the ecumb is relatively low at 40/40/191. It was made before the interwoven ackley schematic was in the game so that was not an option at the time. It was also the first piece of RIS the armorsmith had made so I didnt expect it to be great anyways. Today, the stats of RIS widely vary. It can be as high as 90% with the interwoven segment, a good experienced smith making it, and a good slice. (Interwoven segment drops off ackley in geo caves on yavin4) Also with the interwoven segment it can be made with acid and stun resists, so its only venerability will be lightsaber.

Who can wear RIS helmet-
This has been a controversial topic recently. The majority of species can not wear the RIS helm. This can be very frustrating for people who find this out after they get the helm made. The other species restrictions still apply for the other parts. Trandos cant wear gloves or boot and wookies cant wear any.

Can wear RIS helm- Human, Zabrak, Twi’lek
Can not wear RIS helmet- Trandoshan, Mon Calamari, Rodian, Wookie, Bonthan

I'll give this a shot! I'm honestly fine with most of the balancing with regards to current combat, but I'm too lazy to mod in increasing stack size in bags for the new Bone item on creatures lmao. I'll letcha know what I think of it after I play it for a while!

Which of the Storage builds works for Bones? Animal Parts didn't.

"Storage: Bones" is what it's called. I forget which tech it's under

RIS armor is one of the rarest armors in the game in SWG and could only be built my master armorsmiths. The armor needed various bones and hides from unique, powerful wildlife, and the player also had to pay 50k credits to be instructed.

Combat-wise, it was equipped by a handful of high level NPCs, like the Blackscales, Hidden Daggers, and an elite unit of Rebels known as "Sith Hunters". It's best known for being quite protective and flexible at the same time.

It's also seen in the front page of the Kathun mod in various high level npcs and Force Sensitives. So I figured it's intended to be pretty rare and powerful to an extent if you are still looking into this.
