I would recommend putting some kind of indicator for when you need to reload the shotgun, I was bringing a new friend in to try this who has never played retro games, and this became a really big complaint of theirs and felt frustrating for them. An indicator for when or not having to reload the shotgun would help

My thing, checkpoints or at least shorter levels might be appreciated ,I understand if you choose not to, but it makes it easier if you die, and personal take, I am used to quake 1 and 2 as to my experience, and I think the crossbow might be a bit better if you amde the arrows travel faster, I feel the shotgun seems more powerful than the crossbow and to balance it out, make the arrows travel faster so that the weapon feels more practical, keep up the good work
