A campaign that reminds me of home. 5/5.
With how the maps are laid out, you will never get bored of seeing the same thing over and over again. You can go from looting a station to invading someone's home. It's designed in such a way that you can feel that the area is expansive and goes way off in the distance than only what's laid in front of you (like that area where you go through a limited hallway felt realistic but not too restricting it starts being claustrophobic).

Not only that, this really reminded me of where I live - a small town stationed amidst the mountain ranges. I could almost pinpoint where I usually walk at, where I eat at, or even where I stay at. Nothing but beauty.

As for the gameplay aspect itself, I felt joy in shooting zombies within such an enclosed space (I assume because I live in a similar environment and is used to it). The infected spawns in places where plausible instead of being all over the place (like seeing someone fall to their death from the roof or someone spawning in a completely inaccessible place both for the bullets and the survivors). SI spawns in a considerable distance enough for you to react to their presence and not too close where you're caught off guard a la Versus.

As for the map layouts, they're linear. Trees, like in the official levels, are laid in such a way that they almost point you to where you're supposed to go without being straightforward (think of it as seeing two trees and immediately knowing which direction to head towards). "Checkpoints" are well-lit so you know you're supposed to go there, and despite the darkness, you can still make most things out without problems.

Definitely a must-have campaign! I know most of you hate foresty levels but this one is well-worth of your time!

Fun fact: The ending cutscene is from Dark Carnival. :D
