Deadbeat Escape is a very well-made and enjoyable map overall, but suffers a bit due to a distinct lack of difficulty and surprises for a decent team.

Notably, this map doesn’t have a single Gauntlet event present, any major scripted Tanks or other events, and a very easy and largely standard Defend-Tank-Defend-Tank-Run Up A Bell Tower Finale.

The Finale is notably exceptionally easy if you just hold in the church by the ammo and piano. Commons and Specials can only spawn in front of and to the left of the church, far in front of the church (less commonly), in front of and to the right of the church (rarely), or behind the plywood walls to the left of the oratory in the corner (just for Specials).

All Infected, including the Tank, have trouble entering the church through its intricately-shaped windows. The Infected also cannot break any walls to give themselves easier access to the church, making it a veritable fortress which trivializes the Finale.

The biggest thing that stands out in this Custom Map is definitely the ending. The helicopter escape vehicle atop the bell tower, as the bell starts ringing on its own, is dramatic and epic. Especially since (I believe) the final Tank breaks open the door of the tower, thus forcing you to either kill him, or kite him around the outside area, and then make your way past him and up the bell tower’s stairs.

Besides the final Tank, you should have little to no issues on this map, aside from the occasional Tank in an odd area (IE we had one spawn on the other side of a Dead Drop twice, which is always awkward, however we were fortunately able to Bile/Molotov them both times). This map is also very generous with consumables and explosives, further lowering the overall difficulty.
