This could be interesting as there's considerations to be made whether you want to do a fast reload and take the small hit, AND potentially be caught in a longer single reload animation (rather than individual round reloads), or reload early so you don't take said damage, but it takes a little longer to reload.

I love this idea so much and think it is fantastic, but might just be needless digital clutter. Maybe the slugs explode in a sphere of pellets to do area of effect damage? Anyways, here is my obligatory unrelated comment on stats for Hau's Armory weapons.
Stat Suggestion:
Pros:
- Fires slugs with pinpoint accuracy. (Slugs do the same amount of damage as shotguns, but with 10% greater falloff to compensate for the perfect accuracy.)
- 85% faster fire rate (faster cocking).
- 66% greater clip capacity.
Cons:
- 90% ammo reserve reduction. (4 reserve shells)
This weapon is a useful tool for both Engineer and Soldier for different reasons. As a soldier, the high damage hitscan of this pump-action rifle could allow you to secure kills on fast moving or retreating enemies who may pose a challenge to hit with rockets. Additionally, using this as a self-defense weapon against harassing scouts when playing roamer or trolldier could save you some serious trouble when you are stranded in the backline.
As Engineer, the fast fire rate and consistent damage could act as a new version of the old Panic Attack and allow for an easy means of dispatching spies. Furthermore, you could be an utter nightmare to your enemies if you were to use this with the gunslinger and set up a little sniper's nest for yourself.
- Press and hold the R key to switch to shotgun mode and rifle mode.
- When using rifle ammunition, the bullet penetrates the target. Penetrated bullets cause range damage like shotgun bullets to enemies behind the target.

Weakness
- You can't take a headshot with this weapon.
- Shotgun bullets generated when penetrated by rifle ammunition are reduced by distance.
-Engineer cannot lift the structure while aiming with this weapon.
I think instead of the +50% accuracy, it should have a fixed shot pattern like the panic attack. or maybe it should shoot a single slug, idk just some suggestions.
