the challenges in this mod are disgustingly bad
do you understand how painful it is to tip-toe through every single ####### room preying to whatever god you believe in that you dont touch a single ####### stone on the ground?

or what about dads home plus. DO I EVEN NEED TO EXPLAIN WHY ITS A STUPID ######## CHALLENGE?

and hands on? hands on is the purest form of ####### i have ever had to deal with in issac.

there is no excuse for these challenges to exist. they make speed look fun in comparison

i like most of what this mod adds but these trash heaps need to be fixed in some way

because being literally impossible without good rng is such a challenge and you're such a cool epic pro gamer

Yeah, I get that Dad's Home is supposed to be more of a joke than anything but like, that is 100% RNG

Hands On I had surprisingly not that much trouble with.

The Real Jon is probably my favorite. And I think the gauntlet is a good way to practise the bosses. I liked some of them but yeah, I dont wanna touch the China one.

I don't disagree with this post but there are plenty of vanilla Isaac challenges that are complete RNG garbage like Ultra Hard, DELETE THIS, Bloody Mary etc...

I guess we all have our gripes.

I didn't think the China was was especially bad.

I put some attempts in at The Gauntlet; I'll get back to that one later. (I'm kind of wondering what the best strategy is for that one.)

I won't lie: I laid on the R key until I got something workable for Dad's Home. I was luck to find an item room with a trapdoor in it. On the next floor, I got those fat ipecac worm enemies, and they were great at killing other enemies.

Having said all that, I am honestly wondering if Hands On is unplayable. Maybe I'm just missing something, but it seems equally parts punishing and annoying. (Of course, I thought the same thing about T. Jacob originally...) Any strategies here?

Hands On (that's the one with the hands grabbing you around everywhere right?) is the one challenge that I can not beat, and I probably never will because it's not fun to even try. Call me masochistic but I actually thought the China Challenge was pretty fun and challenging in a good way.

you know you don't have to do any of these right? the devs made them half as jokes/references, half as genuine challenges? all the unlocks can be turned off, you don't need to whine about something that you choose to not see the humor of

You know you don't have to respond to this thread or otherwise be a jerk, right? I think we were having a nuanced discussion of challenges. You don't need to whine about something that you choose not to see the value of.

Edit: Although if you were simply responding to the original post, fair enough.

Given that I don’t even like the base game challenges to begin with, I haven‘t touched these ones at all.

It doesn’t seem like anyone knows how to make a challenge that’s both challenging and engaging.

There are some challenges that I kind of like, such as Cursed and Isaac’s Awakening, but otherwise…. ehhhhh.

yeah i was responding to the original sorry, i think it should be known that the challenges weren't made to be *completed*, they were made so that people could have fun in wacky alternate modes that shouldn't be taken seriously without clogging character select or making them too obscure

Personally, I didn't really hate any of the challenges before FF. I'm down to two left. I think that The Gauntlet is doable, but I don't know if I can devote myself to it right now. I suspect Hands On is hot garbage.
