Hands On I had surprisingly not that much trouble with.
The Real Jon is probably my favorite. And I think the gauntlet is a good way to practise the bosses. I liked some of them but yeah, I dont wanna touch the China one.
I didn't think the China was was especially bad.
I put some attempts in at The Gauntlet; I'll get back to that one later. (I'm kind of wondering what the best strategy is for that one.)
I won't lie: I laid on the R key until I got something workable for Dad's Home. I was luck to find an item room with a trapdoor in it. On the next floor, I got those fat ipecac worm enemies, and they were great at killing other enemies.
Having said all that, I am honestly wondering if Hands On is unplayable. Maybe I'm just missing something, but it seems equally parts punishing and annoying. (Of course, I thought the same thing about T. Jacob originally...) Any strategies here?
You know you don't have to respond to this thread or otherwise be a jerk, right? I think we were having a nuanced discussion of challenges. You don't need to whine about something that you choose not to see the value of.
Edit: Although if you were simply responding to the original post, fair enough.
It doesn’t seem like anyone knows how to make a challenge that’s both challenging and engaging.
There are some challenges that I kind of like, such as Cursed and Isaac’s Awakening, but otherwise…. ehhhhh.
Personally, I didn't really hate any of the challenges before FF. I'm down to two left. I think that The Gauntlet is doable, but I don't know if I can devote myself to it right now. I suspect Hands On is hot garbage.
