Unit Equipment

Curious as to what you may use the unit equipment page for. When bringing it up for say, 20 units, it show around 2-3 sets of gear. Clearly not all their gear. What are you able to do as far as modifying their gear and such? Is this simply for viewing their gear? Can you remove one item and add anothe to switch all their gear?
