The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim

DragonBorn Werewolf Replacer Player Only
Steam error 2
Hi. I'm having a steam error 2 (steam failed to load mod file) each time it tries to synchronise the mod. I tried unsubscribing all the mods and deleting their files via file manager, then I verfied the integrity of the local game cache and subscribed to this mod only - it still gives me the same error. I know some other people have the same problem, I have written about it in comments but do not know if you read them. If this issue is something you would look into, that'd be great - your mod really looks interesting (especially since I liked the idea of playing as a werewolf but didnt like the vanila werewolfs).

Oh, btw - the file with your mod is not in the data tab (the one in which you can manage the order in which mods launch) I presume it means steam can't even download it to my pc?

I had this problem recently on another. Try this
1. Go to your c:/programfiles/steam/common/skyrim/data
2. find the esp and bsa for this mod which is called
kryptonain and dogtowns werewolf replacer pack 4
3. Exit Steam
4. Load Steam and let it sync files
5. Go back to this mod and re subscribe

I'm not quite sure I understand you correctly. I have reinstalled Skyrim in the meantime (started before your answer). I look at the data folder you have pointed and there are only regular skyrim bsa files there (also no esp files, but some esm). I also searched for all .bsa files in my computer and only ones are the files in data folder (but as I said, nothing is called anywhere near to what you named). I suppose I really don't have them on my PC? Also, even if I were able to find them what exactly should I do with them ?

If you only have regular skyrim related bsa, esp and esm's in your skyrim directory then you haven't installed any mods (if your using steam workshop) Try re-subscribing to the mod/s now if you aren't still subscribed to them and run the skryim launcer at least once to allow it to fully update itself. Hope this helps.

Once the launcer has run at least once with the mods subscribed to (unless you unsubbed to them before removing Skyrim then you will still be subbed to them) then the relative bsa, esp and esm's will/should appear in your data folder, if they do not then either the mods haven't downloaded or you have a more serious problem with your windows directories.

Rebel: Have you read the discussion before posting? The exact problem is that we do not have the mod files, regardless of how many times we subscribe and unsubscribe and subscribe again etc. The very Steam Error no.2 is Steam not loading the files, so saying we do not have the files does not help really :)

Kryptonian: Much thanks for your previous help. I was not able to get your mod running, but the fact you tried to help me is much appreciated. If steam can't download the mod esp and bsa automatically, would it help if I downloaded them manually and pasted to the correct folder? If yes - could you please tell me where could I download them from?

PS - I tried subscribing to the mod on my gf's computer and got the same error there. So either it is a problem with our internet access somehow (both use the same) or a general windows 8.1 problem or well, I have no idea :)

I read through the entirety of the discussion before replying, I may have posted something in response to 2 people's questions and got the points mixed up :)

However I can say that while I now use Nexus for all my modding needs, I too use Windows 8.1 and have never experienced an issue with downloading any mods, even back when I was using Steam workshop, so it might be steam related, good luck sorting this out.

I will try and get this to the Nexus. I will need to speak to an admin on there first about it. I do not upload to there anymore. I have a few frineds I still talk to on there that might upload the mod there. I will post back here when I have an answer for everyone.
Thanks for subscribing everyone and to the people having issuse here I am sorry that is a Steam related error is sounds to me.
If this goes to Nexus I will also include the patch for dawnguard players.
