As the title suggests, could we get an option to somehow end the darkness if we die in a single player game?

I died recently while playing with this mod, and it was impossible to start off with a new character when the darkness was still present. After half a dozen quick deaths, I had to start a new run as I couldn't get anywhere and wasn't wanting to wait in a spawn for however long for the darkness to end.
