RBM very different and worse than previous versions?
Hey, so i remember playing RBM ages ago and loving it. So i reinstalled it and played it with better pikes, the required mods to support both of them + diplomacy and better garrisons.

The problem begins with bows. The reload speed i get but trying to shoot as a player is all but impossible to time. My archers are basically useless as they will barely get a few shots in before being forced to stop shooting. As someone else's post i found so eloquently put it: "bows slower than catapults". I tried to switch to vanilla ready speed and observed in the arena. The enemy now instantly readies up and can speed fire so long as they have a target, only slowed by aiming time. I'm assuming the problem here was switching during a campaign so i am not gonna include it, just wanted a confirmation from any of you.

Secondly, javelins seem to just straight up be weak af sometimes and god tier others. My static imperial infantrymen threw 4 BIG pilla javelins to kill a single looter. Not some decked out in armour elite or anything like that, a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ looter. Arena javs also are stuck at doing around 30 dmg, going up to 60 if im moving towards the enemy when throwing. Only on/vs horseback did it do any more (80 - above 100). Are javs just too dependent on relative speed? A guy with basically no armour should not need more than 2 max javs through the chest before going down.

Thirdly, the combat AI. What i remember from the previous version was that my units would do proper lines, come near each other, and then the more 'brave' of the soldiers would move forward to start doing melee. Now, it seems like the default AI charge command but they do it in advance mode instead of individually (so as a formation). When the lines do meet (20 vs 20 against looters btw), they break up into weird little blobs and try to do small duels everywhere, ignoring closer enemies and going for the ones futher back. (i literally saw my guy brush up and push a looter to get to the one behind him).

So my questions now boils down to:
Is RBM just worse now? Are the default settings just ♥♥♥♥♥♥ and i need to tinker?
My experience just now was so much worse than the battles i remember (at least the small battles, couldnt endure to bigger than 25 v 25).

PS: Spears seem useless like javs without relative speed, attacked a guy on horseback from behind whilst on horseback, went through the entire thrust animation, but did 3 dmg. This guy was a mountain bandit, he did not have high quality armour, just basic leather.

PSS: Weapons attack slowly in general, my spear on horseback sometimes literally did a thrust in slow-motion.

agree with all of the above. I can add that the balance is very lacking, in vlandia the 6th tier of horses has 100 100 90 armor and the 5th tier of infantry too, its analogues of the 5th tier of other nations dont so they simply cannot win
also the cavalry is too strong
considering that they recruit it (e.g. vlandia) 1 to 1 relative to other classes, she destroys all infantry types of units
for example, the tactics added to Batania when they put archers (who now simply do not work against anything except recruits) on the flanks where the opponent has cavalry in the number of 1 to 1, it is generally like a joke, cavalry destroys even strong melee units without any problems, so archers is 100% doomed they cannot even shoot
the cavalry comes out and fights against the ideal enemy at this time obviously weaker infantry of Batania fights with the stronger infantry of vlandia without the support of archers
I tend to agree that the cavalry should be so strong if we are talking about realism, but in reality there was never a 1 to 1 ratio of infantry to cavalry in the army
with this strength, nations with a higher cavalry recruitment ratio than others will just automatically win
in my battles with equal armies, for example, 600 to 600 Batania put up 60 horses against 200 Vlandia
I recently installed the mod, so so far I have only seen enough of the confrontation between these two nations, but both tactically and mathematically, Batania has no chance of winning at all

developers is vlandia fans or what? xD
they are mathematically stronger than ALL other nations and also have more starting territories for recruiting, only aserai got similar but they r weacker
i mean - mod is great, i love it, but balance is so fu**** up. im not a vlandia fan and they r raping all its neigbors
