Some Constructive Criticism
I really WANT to like this mod because it DOES add a lot of neat and interesting things that I greatly enjoy, however there's just too much holding it back for me:

1. Redundancy. For every potion/material that provides something new, there's one with gameplay functions far too similar to liquids already found in the game. While all are neat, they certainly aren't necessary, and I wish more restraint had been used.

2. Bloat. At first, finding new potions was interesting... until I was no-longer able to keep track of what did what, or what reacted with what. The sheer number of new potions means it's very unlikely to find any one liquid consistently enough to actually experiment with it. That makes players unable to consistently engage with the game's alchemy system, which restricts the area of the game this mod intends to enhance.

3. Performance. As others have attested, a number of new reactions and substances added can seriously hinder performance. I can't speak to the optimisation side of things, but design-wise you should ask yourself if the additions responsible for the worst of the lag are enhancing the overall gameplay experience enough to be worth their potential impact on performance.

Overall, I really, REALLY like a lot of the gameplay variety this mod provides with its ore generation and whatnot, but personally its downsides outweigh its benefits. A LOT of this could be solved by simply allowing players to pick-and-choose which potions/materials spawn via mod settings. Alternatively, having presets that let players toggle between the vanilla-adjacent and the crazier stuff could work as well.

I'd also look into working with the person responsible for the fantastic "Alchemy Tutor" mod to integrate the Chemical Curiosity potions/reactions into its functionality. A system that diegetically introduces players to the mod's many new reactions is exactly what it needs.

You actually raise some fair points with the first two arguments, I think I might go through the list of materials and find ones that could be more fleshed out or see if there are any that could be simplified (personally I always questioned Deceleratium, Heftium and Stillium), though ideally I would like to look into splitting up and diversifying the materials first. If you have any specific complaints or suggestions, please do let me know.
Also, performance has been heavily improved in the recent update, but might not be perfect, do let us know if you still experience lag or performance related issues
