Can't stop talking about this mod!
Sorry for such a long comment, and I had to post it as a discussion because I just can't stop talking about this mod!

Me and my buddy have been playing around with this for a couple days, and I must say, this finally makes the 190 campaign on par with old school Koei games in terms of feeling like a chaotic world in which you are the only hope for your region and hopefully all of China. The added factions and rebalance really makes the turbulent times at the start feel much more turbulent. Instead of most of China being under a weak Han Minister unable to govern lands at all, far more warlords strike it out on their own as they should! While most of them are relatively weak, they make it truly feel like you are putting down rebellions and would-be warlords to settle your provinces as sole governor, making loose coalitions with other governors and fighting against those who ally against your cause. It's also really fun when they start to gang up on you while you are also dealing with bandits or rebellions and you don't have the resources to fight them all; it truly makes those with proper heroes shine, and those proper heroes who are leading factions of heroes shine even more!

I love the change of Huangfu Song to the more well known minister Wang Yun, though it is kind of odd to see him out there sailing around fighting battles and sometimes dying before the Diaochan plot resolves. The only major thing I would really love to see added, and it's a bit of a big ask, but it would be really neat if Lu Bu took over Chang An instead of Dong Min (who should die in the assassination event with his daddy) -- with this, Li Jue (with Gao Si) could also be added as a playable faction as vassals of Dong Zhuo governing some lands near Chang An. Then when the "Trouble in the Capital" event happens, Li Jue and Lu Bu (Dong Zhuo) declare war on each other. It would also be great if that event also triggered the "Emperor escapes," which I don't think happens in 190 or at least doesn't always trigger.

Aside from that big wish, this mod is truly great! The only issue we're having with it right now (and I have tested and confirmed it is 100% this mod that is doing it) is that Cai Mao's model on the campaign map has invisible armor -- a few generals seem to lose their portraits when they become free agents and get recruited, like we had this happen with Gan Ning after his faction was destroyed and Sun Jian recruited him for 1000g through candidate officers. Sometimes also there are baby generals without proper skills or abilities even though they are 24 or 40 or whatever. I think these may be known issues.

These are pretty minor errors and infrequent, though, so definitely worth all the awesome stuff this mod has to offer! It also plays well with most any other mod that MTU does from what I've found. We're using BARS and a ton of Havie's and Guv's mods and even that regional recruitment and buffs mod and it's all working flawlessly! Thanks so much for all the hard work you have put into making something that advanced players such as myself who have already "done it all" to have a truly rewarding campaign experience now to come back to again and again!

Hey yo! Thanks for the post! Most of these issues should be fixed on the next update but I will look into character losing their portraits after getting their faction destroyed and the child soldiers. And the compatibility sounds great!

Overall I did make this mod because I had played 190 to death and wanted something new, which after finishing this start date, I am going back to revamp 182 then 194, finally finishing off with 200.

With Wang Yun I am planning on moving his army closer to Dong Zhuo. And more detail events will be added! Such as the succession to Li Jue and Guo Si from Dong Zhuo. I don't think more factions will be added like them, I rather have detailed event lines for them(with multiple endings)!

Ah yes, improved events would ultimately be better, I agree! I just didn't know how much more you were going to be doing with this. That sounds amazing! I'm looking forward to what you do with the other timelines as well.

For instance, the 200 campaign would be far more enjoyable with more events; that was the one thing that disappointed me with the final updates and expansion were that they did even less with the events. Like for Liu Bei, it's just -- try to stick it to Cao Cao and build up some cash completing missions, run away to Jing, get Zhuge Liang, probably ally or fight with Liu Biao, then go to Shu and most likely fight Liu Zhang. There could easily have at least been a Liu Biao dies event where Liu Cong becomes Cao Cao's vassal and goes to war with Liu Bei who gets Liu Qi as a vassal or something.

It's so great that modders like you are picking it up and improving what has so much potential to be the best 3K game in existence.

I tried to recruit armies and saw this. Might help you figure out what's making the portraits disappear and the babies showing up? Couldn't hurt to post it I guess.

Heh, sorry for all the posts, but more information keeps presenting itself. Guan Ping spawned like that after his event, and I noticed when I went to field him that he had no ancillaries at all, like not even armor. He had nothing. Gan Ning seems to have had his custom armor swapped out with a Divination Tunic, and my friend said another Gan Ning with proper portrait was available for him to recruit, so it's possible some of these issues are just because we're doing MP and MP is weird. I put a proper vanguard set on Guan Ping and his portrait returned. I haven't tried with Gan Ning yet; will tonight. Gonna pay around with a SP campaign and see if any of this stuff can be replicated.

I love how energetic you are about the mod. :)
Ironic did post a summary on whats comming in the comments section if you wanna check it out. Though it does not mention a fix the the admin demanding idnependence bug, im fairly sure he fixed that too.

He did fix alot of art too.
Ironic  [developer] 18 Dec, 2022 @ 7:26pm
Oh I see the issue now, there may be duplicates of the characters. I will take a look at that. But the independence bug has been fixed.
Warløck 18 Dec, 2022 @ 8:43pm
Oh, that's great news. I'm sorry I missed the comment about that. There's a lot of comments of things that are coming, and that's very exciting! I just wanted to help make this next update even better if that's even possible!

I did confirm all of this stuff is happening in SP as well using only the mod and its requirements, everything else vanilla. I think it is indeed some kind of duplication error. I recruited the first bugged general I found, a baby general (aged 20-something) on turn 3 or so, and they again had no armor or anything. This one had a legendary title but it started with "dy_" and I think was definitely not this person's title, also then some table data attribute, "+ adjective." I took a screenshot:

Later I saw two Cao Caos move into my territory and then the second Cao Cao became Cao Ang but without a portrait and with the weird generic missing general portrait image on the campaign map. Also, it almost looked like Cao Ang had Ji Ling's portrait behind the missing general one on his army info panel.

Anyway, I hope anything in this is valuable information. I won't post anymore, but I'm looking forward to the update!

Warlock, do you mind sending over you exact mod list? I want to see if it's another mod in it messing with stuff.
Warløck 19 Dec, 2022 @ 2:27pm
As I said, only your mod and the requirements, everything else vanilla. I disabled all but your mod, MTU, the WDG mod without the portraits (i.e., not the WDG2) and TUP (which I have confirmed works just the same as just having the two mods separately). This screenshot was from a clean start with no other mods enabled -- didn't even have the Bug Fix patch. No conflicts to be had.

Looks like Cao Ang was messed up on our other play through as well, so maybe it's the same generals being overwritten each time?

Cao Ang is known issue, I just forgot his portrait. And You shouldn't run this with TUP as they have conflicting startpos and ceos so you will have issues like Cheng Lian as he is added by TUP.
Warløck 19 Dec, 2022 @ 2:57pm
Wow, that's crazy! I really thought I had tested with both and that I was still replicating the issue, but it really is that extra stuff from TUP that's doing it. My bad!

P.S. Also been having some ancillaries (horses specifically that I know of) disappear when I receive them. Not sure if that's your mod and/or known issue, but it definitely just happened in my clean play through with just your specific mod list).

Sorry I didn't do slightly better research before asking. Cheers!

I think there are a few factions that could be filled out well by using the "all factions playable version.

for instance zhang yang is really well thought out with its bing infantry etc, in all factions playable. How difficult would it be to grab that version of Zhang Yang and drop him into the 190 expanded mod? :lunar2020halodragon:
Ironic  [developer] 17 Dec, 2023 @ 8:49am
@Austere Hare I don't have permission to use those assets so I won't be, but I do have something planned for Zhang Yang's faction in the next update
