It always really bugged me that the oven mitt doesn't do anything. It should allow you to transfer stuff from the oven faster, and reduce encumbrance of pots and saucepans. (pillows have a huge encumbrance even though they're light, so encumbrance isn't just weight) An oven mitt would reduce encumbrance by providing an easy way to transfer any hot item.
